Enjoyed playing some records from the @nationalpoetrylibrary 's sound collections in the Royal Festival Hall's L5 bar yesterday, as part of the @southbankcentre 's 'You Are Here' 75th anniversary celebrations. Was nice to dig out some old and new faves 😎

In Speaking Of The Gaze, poets K Angel, Troy Cabida and Safa Khatib present a multisensory reading on the politics of erotic experience, featuring poetry, music, and performance followed by an ambient set courtesy of Endpapers. Books will be available for sale on the night. Ease into your bodies with us at the end of the long weekend. Scribbling, quiet reading, and chill conversation with old or new friends encouraged throughout the space after the performances. -- Troy Cabida is the author of Neon Manila (2025), a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. His pamphlets include War Dove (2020) and Symmetric of Bone: poems after Elsa Peretti (2024), a Poetry Book Society Pamphlet Choice. He currently works as co-editor for fourteen poems and library assistant for the National Poetry Library. (/) Safa Khatib is a poet and translator. She is the author of A Dress of Locusts (2025). Her work recently appears in Mizna, Wasafiri and the 2026 Forward Book of Poetry. K Angel is founding editor of None Too Soon, an ephemeral press designed on neurodivergent rituals of urgency, necessity, and doing the thing together. Their first collection, Another double text (2026), is forthcoming from kith books. () Endpapers, presented by Will René, is a monthly genre-hopping show on Noods Radio playing (mostly) wordless music to have on while reading or writing. Will also produces Plastic Language, a poetry and music show on NTS Radio.

Plastic Language, vol. 21 1am, 15/04/2026, ch. 1 @nts_radio For this volume, I met Florence Shaw (@florence_shaw ) of the band Dry Cleaning (@drycleaningband ) to make some recordings outside St. Alfege Church in Greenwich, on the evening of a bellringing practice. This was a bit of an experiment and we weren't sure what to expect - and Florence's readings, the bells and the night sounds of Greenwich all came together in really wonderful and unexpected ways. Huge thanks to Florence for sharing her work, and for making sure we got to hear some bells. The amazing new Dry Cleaning album 'Secret Love' is out now on @4ad and they're currently touring it so try and catch them! Florence's readings are interspersed with music exploring the intersections of text and sound, including stunning new work from aja monet (@ajamonet ), JJJJJerome Ellis (@jjjjjeromeellis ), Aster (@this.is.aster ), Anne Waldman (@annewaldman / @sirenrecordings ) and more. There is also a track by LWP Majitu, featured in Richard Prin's 'Brain Flavour: A Lyric History of Swahili Hip-Hop', forthcoming with @tenementpress . In this edition of Endpapers on @noodsradio , Tatevik Sargsyan - founder and editor of the wonderful @anamotpress - presents a wordless mix of Armenian choral/chamber music, ambient sounds and instrumental pieces. Huge thanks to Tatevik for putting this together, lots of haunting and beautiful sounds in here. Tatevik says: "The theme of this mix is stones and memories. Armenian choral and chamber music sits at its core. The music of Komitas is very special to me, it’s hard to put into words, it’s visceral. I feel grounded but have a yearning that’s hard to pinpoint, and feel that anything can be achieved. My favourite interpretations by the Gurdjieff Ensemble and Tigran Hamasyan bookend the mix. The middle opens into a dense sonic landscape with Latin diasporic rhythms from Microhm, Nicolas Jaar’s ambient meditations on political struggles and solidarities, and Lucy Khanyan’s production of the qanun over deep, haunting electro sounds. The closing slows and stretches out, with calming handpan melodies." Pictured here are some book recommendations from Tatevik: 'Emma's Son' by Vahe Armen; '44. Defeat (The Artsakh War of 2020)' by Vicken Cheterian, Ashot Voskanyan, Karen Harutuinyan and Mkrtich Karapetyan; 'Wellwater' by Karen Solie; 'Thirst: In Search of Freshwater'; 'A Grammar Built with Rocks' by Shoghig Halajian & Suzy Halajian; and 'Smoke Drifts' by Nadia Anjuman. I also strongly recommend checking out publications from Anamot Press! Tracklist: Amici Chamber Ensemble - Chant armĂ©nien Argishty - Kamancha (Sayat Nova) Duduk Quartet - ŐźŐ«Ö€ŐĄŐ¶Ő« ŐźŐĄŐŒ (Komitas) Duduk Quartet - Dle Yaman The Gurdjieff Ensemble - Oriental Dance The Gurdjieff Ensemble - Manushaki Of Vagharshapat (Komitas) Charlie Haden - Wade In The Water (Instrumental) Lucy Khanyan - Dreamscape Nicolas Jaar - El Azar Microhm - Presente y pasado Faraj Suleiman - Return Tigran Hamasyan - Shushiki (Komitas) Tigran Hamasyan - Garun A - Variation (Komitas) Malte Marten - Higher Calling Hayk Karoyi - Yesimur Ryuichi Sakamoto - Solitude Link to listen back in bio & stories đŸ“»

Enormous thanks to Tice for putting this together, it's a wild, visionary, euphoric sonic ride and really takes listeners into the world of Tice's writing, which I wholeheartedly recommend. Alongside and in dialogue with her own work, Tice plays music by Kali Malone (@hotscorpions ), Latekid (@latekid_ ) and Shy One (@shyclart ), among many others.  Thanks to @sophienicellison and @ilabrugal at NTS for production. This edition of Endpapers was broadcast on @noodsradio from 8-9am on Monday 1st December: wordless music and sounds to have on while reading, writing, or whatever you like. Thanks to Cat, Clem and Richard for the last 3 months of guest mixes - this episode winds things down for 2025 with some old favourites and new finds, including Rachel Grimes, Perfect Binding (@perfectbindingband ) and Jefre Cantu-Ledesma (@jcantuledesma ). This month has felt equal parts dark and luminous, and I've been reading books which have chimed with this feeling while putting this mix together - W.G. Sebald's 'Austerlitz', Roy Claire Potter's 'The Wastes' and Walter M. Miller Jr.'s 'A Canticle for Leibowitz'. If you enjoy these shows, I'll be bringing some records along to beloved @cafeotodalston this coming Saturday 6th December to play before, between and after readings from some amazing poets at @the87press 's Mushaira event. In this edition of Endpapers on @noodsradio , artist, musician, writer and friend @richardjphoenix presents a sonic collage of his own works from over the last eight years, including compositions released under his own name, or under the aliases of Lilac and Huxley Boon, as well a variety of improvisations made with friends and collaborators.  This mix is a real treat - thank you Richard! Richard says: "There’s quite a few exclusive recordings to the mix - the recording of 'An Imprecise Art pt III' from Alice Amati Gallery which was performed recently and a couple of compositions made just for the mix as well as edits reworkings of old songs and leftovers from the making of the most recent 7”. I structured it around a long recording of a rehearsal/improvisation leaving none of the music made present, just the in-between each moment of playing when we were just being together, joking, talking, adjusting. It felt quite inward looking and personal whilst making it but it’s anchored in being with others." Recommended reading while listening: Richard's 'Do Your Own Thing', published by the brilliant @roughtradebooks . This mix has also nicely accompanied a few other books this month: Shrikant Verma's 'Magadh' (translated by Rahul Soni); Clare Carlisle's 'Transcendence for Beginners'; and 'FrOg pOnd plOp', an anthology of works by and about Dom Sylvester HouĂ©dard. Thanks @jencalleja_ for the đŸ“·, I'm supposed to be Uncle Fester and Richard is clearly Julius Pringles Tracklist in story highlights; link to listen back in bio đŸ“»

This edition of Endpapers was broadcast on @noodsradio from 8-9am on Monday 6th October: wordless music and sounds to have on while reading, writing, or easing into the week. My dear friend Clem, aka Dragged Out Of Paradise, returns to present his second guest mix for Endpapers, a gorgeous variety of tones and textures to ease us into the Autumn, featuring Cyrus Pireh, Woo, and a really stunning piece by Rafael Toral, among many others. I asked Clem if there was anything he wanted me to say about the mix but he just said to tell everyone to buy the new Pynchon novel. I've listened to this mix a few times over the last month, and it has nicely accompanied a few books: Danielle Dutton's 'Prairie, Dresses, Art, Other'; David Grubbs' 'The Voice in the Headphones'; and Emily Wilson's translation of The Iliad.  Tracklist below, and link to listen back in bio + story highlights đŸ“» Sage Martens - Chamber Music for Lawn Mowers Rafael Toral - Easy Living Padang Food Tigers - Comedown Peculiar Old Saw - Song for Paloma Cleek Schrey & Weston Olecki - Rockingham (300) Felicia Sjögren - Mother Tongue Woo - Adoramus te Domine Peter Gutteridge - Thumbelline Cyrus Pireh - Thank You, Guitar Bill Orcutt - Odd Hamlet Superstorms - Part V Allan Gilbert Ballon - Ogadia Miles Davis - Generique
