⋆。°✩ Animalia Mix ⋆。°✩
On October 10th, 2020, Kia asked if I’d like to contribute to the Animalia series and today, more than five years later, it finally sees the light of day.
This is one of those mixes I’ve chipped away at slowly and lovingly over the years. I must have changed direction at least ten times, but the final shape really emerged in late 2023, crystallizing further in the months leading up to my opening set at Dekmantel Narrm - many of the tracks featured here were played there.
Expect atmospheric drum & bass, idm and mysterious, dubby downtempo, old and new all threaded with that tug-at-the-heartstrings quality I never seem to shake. This one is especially for fans of half time or my INVEINS mix – link in bio.
Big love to @kiasvs for her patience, for having me on the @animalialabel series for the extremely kind write up <3

Hello world, this is me ~ transmitted through a new live DJ recording of my set at the very special un:send 25/26 edition.
I’m very excited to share this memory, recorded live on the 30th December, 2025 10-12pm, after OK EG and before Priori (live). Thanks for all the lovely feedback I’ve received on this set over the last couple months ~ and to all the people who sent such fun videos (especially Milly who managed to capture one of ‘the drops’) ~ sorry I included such a ridiculous amount of them in this post…
Big love again to @partydown99@kasun_@kiasvs@lollysquire@matt.jrw for inviting me to play such a fun slot and getting me involved in the re:send stage to interview one of my B(if)tek heroes ~ more on interview recording to come!
Music from @tadasmajeris@sleepd93@erikluebs@subbasics@efdemin@herbalistekmusic@trois_quarts_taxi_system@evilgap@tsott_@azu.tiwaline@martinou3000 ++ a few of the usual 90s and 00’s digs, and of course living out my long time dream of playing @thechemicalbrothers ’star guitar’ :’)
Perhaps something to get you going on the way to one of the many festivals this weekend??

MNMT Recordings presents : Pjenné (@pjenneee ) - Pe:rsona 2025
“This set was recorded live 5-7pm, Saturday evening at Pe:rsona, 2025. The seemingly last dry-ish stretch and set of wild (weather) weekend, sunshowers made way for glistening droplets to sparkle through the shade sails and lay foundation for me to weave between deeper percussive cuts and shiny crystalline daytime techno.”
Pjenné is a Naarm/Melbourne-based DJ, radio broadcaster, curator and label manager. Her musical identity is shaped by the expansive, psychedelic soundscapes of the southern bush, an influence that permeates her trance-inducing, progressive, and hypnotic selections.
Pjenné’s sets are characterised by deep-digging selections and an impeccable narrative craft, both of which are on full display in this masterfully executed recording. Tune in now for two hours of deep, lush afternoon techno daydreams.
Available now on our SoundCloud, YouTube channels or wherever you get your podcasts.

Beaming in from the central mountains of Colombia and onto the Passing Notes airwaves for episode 343 is Lopar.
The NATURAL resident has spent the past 8+ years slowly and steadily carving out a place in Colombia’s underground, sharing line‑ups with a wide spread of international heads across clubs, DIY spaces and independent platforms. He’s also appeared at the Colombian edition of Extra Mostra (@mostrabcn ), an audiovisual and experimental outpost dedicated to immersive electronics and contemporary artistic expression.
Lopar’s sets are carefully plotted, instinctive emotional arcs that quietly tunnel between ambient drift, minimal, deep house, dub, downtempo, drum & bass and techno …and whatever else feels right in the moment. His guest mix for us is a perfect example: dub and shining, atmospheric techno, well‑timed acidic flashes and long blends creating transportive depths.
Tune in tonight on PBS 106.7FM from 8pm to hear just that!

Companion is the shared orbit of Naarm DJs and radio presenters Pjenne and Milly. Moving at a non-hurried pace, each release is crafted with deep consideration, drawing on a mutual fixation with downtempo, ’90s electronica, IDM and ambient trance. Small runs, tactile objects and community-minded compilations expand their world of sound. Companion appear at IME 2026.

You can now listen back to my long form interview recorded live at un:send 25/26 with Dr Nicole Skeltys (Artificial / B(if)tek) on the Cloud. ☁️
Thanks again to everyone who made this possible, to the audience for their curiosity and engagement and to Nicole for taking the time to chat with me about her incredible career.
@nicoleskeltys
They say never meet your heroes, but that advice doesn’t quite hold up when one of your heroes is Dr Nicole Skeltys.
A pioneering artist, musician, composer and producer, Nicole’s career spans more than three decades and twelve albums, moving through quirky dance, lo fi electronica and psychedelic folk across a multitude of formats. She is best known as one half of the seminal electro-femme duo B(if)tek alongside Kate Crawford, whose influence on Australian electronic music remains profound. Alongside this, her solo project Artificial and extensive work across film, television, theatre and her creative arts PhD reflect a practice that is playful, expansive and deeply influential.
There is so much to celebrate across Nicole’s career and the mark she continues to leave on contemporary music culture. It was a privilege to sit down with Nicole and a generous, curious audience ‘In Conversation’ at the re:send stage at un:send on December 31, 2025. The conversation was warm, open and full of insight and it is my absolute pleasure to be broadcasting the full recording on Passing Notes tonight. Join us live on PBS 106.7FM from 8pm.
This broadcast contributes to the various celebrations marking 30 years of Sub Vocal Theme Park, the seminal 1996 debut from B(if)tek, soon to be reissued on vinyl via Portal Replica. You can also catch Nicole live as Artificial (Live A/V) at Paper Cuts at Rubix Warehouse alongside Kia, Moopie and orb.

TRANCE/EUPHORIA (presented by Pjenne & Zev Tropp) is an exploration of transcendental states through breath, movement and yoga, this collaborative journey weaves together mantra, meditation and deep listening, drawing from contemporary sonic practices alongside Himalayan Yog Vedantic traditions.
Soundtracked live, the experience unfolds through ambient, leftfield electronica and trance infused textures that mirror the energetic rise and fall of the practice. Grounding yet transportive, this offering invites altered states, collective connection and a deep listening to body, breath and sound.
