In Finland, we celebrate friendship on the 14th of February, and I really cherish that. In this picture, the couple sitting under the bridge could be friends or lovers — we can’t know for sure. But they seem to be enjoying their time, swinging above the river…

I was going through my analogue photography (scan) archives recently and found many interesting images that I’ve never shared on IG. So I decided to revitalise this account and start posting some of this archival material.
Here’s a photo from 2013, taken in the mountains of Abkhazia. Maybe I should try printing it in the darkroom?

THE PORTAL
Halfway through my 82 km hike along the Karhunkierros path in Oulanka National Park, Finnish Lapland, I stumbled upon a tree bent into the shape of a perfect triangle. Framed by shadows and light, the tree resembled a mythical portal, a silent threshold to other realms. Is the boreal forest giving some sign? Could this be a doorway into the unknown? The absence of colour deepens the sense of mystery, turning the scene into a dreamscape where nature seems to hint at other realms.

This May, I had the honour of being part of the Price of Peace group exhibition, organised by @hiaafinland at Lauttasaari Church, where I presented my work Spectre of Vyborg — a black and white analogue photograph taken in Vyborg in 2018 and printed this year, 2025, on matte silver gelatin paper at @finnishdarkroom .
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who made this exhibition possible, and especially to @katrikrohnlassila , whose guidance was instrumental in bringing this print to life.
