National Indoor Championships 2025 š“ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó “ó æš„
Last weekend, I shot at the
@archerygbofficial National Indoor Champs, both as part of the
@scottish_archery Team in the Home Nations Champs, as well as in the Individual Championship.
I am proud of how I performed this weekend, one full year after first competing at a national comp. The individual round fell short of what I can do, but similar to what Iām currently shooting at the moment. A mixture of form changes, mental load, and less time to shoot has impacted my performance, and although Iām working on it, I am currently not shooting my best.
So, this was an opportunity to put my mental work into practice; acknowledging that I might not achieve the best results, but not letting it get to me or affect my performance further on the day. I was very happy with how I handled my nerves, and I can point to some arrows where positive self-talk before the shot resulted in a better execution.
As always, I greatly enjoyed the head to head matches.
@erin_archery and
@km_archery were wonderful teammates and we all put in some great arrows!
@freya__archery was right behind us and a strong support. Unfortunately, we lost out against England, but won our match against Northern Ireland, securing a Bronze Medal.
Having made the cut, I progressed to individual matches on Saturday where I was matched up with
@marilyn_wong29 . Weāve shot together before at university competitions so it was great to meet again. It was a tight match, but Marilyn brought it back to win 6-4. Despite the loss, I enjoyed the match immensely and I know I put up a fight! š
In between shooting, it was great catching up with all the Scottish and British archers who I donāt often see. I had a lot of fun doing a social media takeover for
@ustaarchery and from asking people what they love about Champs, the strong community aspect of archery shone through.
I am eager to get back to my notes and continue to train, with BUCS and the Scottish National Indoor Champs on the horizon. Shout out to the Airbnb gang who added to the fun ā¤ļø Huge thanks to
@saintssportau for supporting my training and travel.
