Samen met nederpopband @hiigohiigo stonden we vandaag op het Stationsplein tijdens het Maaiveld Festival.
Voor ons was dit precies waar we van houden: nieuwe verbindingen aangaan, muziek buiten de gebaande paden brengen en samen iets neerzetten dat je niet iedere dag hoort.

Fembot Calling is an evening dedicated to artifice and its aching ~ a space where hazy humanoid longing takes the spotlight. Inspired by sci-fi novels like ‘The Employees’ by Olga Ravn or silent-era staples like Metropolis (1927), the evening brings together four NL-based acts to step into the depths of the bionic soul. Come through for foggy melodies and grainy voices, strange and sacral soundscapes and searching strings of thought !! 🔌🔌

This is my snippet and little impro of one standard I love year after year, and the Taiwanese opera songs merging into it are perfect for my mood in winter. The harmony of Black Narcissus always brings me into deep memories, and the Taiwanese opera song Riding a White Horse（身騎白馬）just rings naturally while I swim in those memories.
Classic is classic.

I am excited to share that my work “Mirror, Mirror, in the Bowl” is now on New Music Now. This is my theatre composition collaborated with the choreographer/performer MingJou Chen @ming_jou , a work with electronic music, live electronics, audiovisual art, movements, dance, and my film.
This work is about the choices process we have in our minds, a story of dualities: choosing and not choosing, folding and unfolding, walking away and staying. Through this journey, the piece explores the delicate balance between opposing forces, reflecting on the choices that define us.
I am very blessed to premiere the 15 mins version of this work in the Muziekgebouw @muziekgebouw , in the An Evening of Today series. This work continues, and I hope to present it to you soon.
This work tributes to mother, who inspired me to choose differently.
