Simon focusing on the 1%ers with Gabi, taking her through some fine tuning for her shoulders around CrossFit training currently Some overhead prep work was in order to clean up motor control and end range strength issues on the back of some nagging rotator cuff pain @gabi.napper @physio.simon @darchphysio #sportsphysio #physiotherapy #crossfit

🥊 STRENGTH CLUB RUMBLE 🥊 An unreal day out competing alongside @harco_sharko and under the watchful eye of @coachcam_pl With his expert handling once again. Took home 3rd Place 🥉 for the U93kg category which I was pretty stoked about after completing a triathlon just a couple of weeks ago and sitting well under 90kg. Added some PR’s to all 3 lifts which was awesome too. Playing a game of inches and enjoying the learning process along the way! As always thank you @strengthclubperth for an amazing comp. @coachcam_pl @jacobsofianos @strengthclubperth @darchphysio

I’ll be diving into my Masters of Sports Medicine with @unimelb in 2024. I’ve always been involved in sport. I’ve seen both sides of the coin - I’ve had some devastating injuries as a player and I’ve broken the bad news to someone as the health professional. Those tough moments are what inspire me to help others bounce back. I’m excited to learn more about doing exactly that!

Gabi has crushed her proximal hamstring tendon rehab with full resolution after a spike in running volume in prep for the @torianpro . Gabi flys in under 2 weeks and we are stoked she is feeling this good going into a huge comp. Now it’s about fine tuning and injury prevention. It’s a hard sport to steer completely clear of overuse injuries, so best believe Gabi is throwing everything at this Torian prep. #torianpro #crossfit #sportsphysio

We are wishing @ash__v the best of luck before he jets off over east to Australia’s Strongest Man by @australias.strongest Ready to see him smash it after working through some patella tendon issues after showing some serious patience and diligence in the rehab work and plan in what can be a very niggly injury Special thanks to @maximusmccall and @tomhill_doc for their shared opinion and management to get him in the best condition possible for this comp . . . 📍4/734 Karrinyup Rd, Stirling 💻 Book online via 🏷️ Socials @stirling.physio #strongman #physio #rehab

Could your caffeine intake be impacting your recovery? Maybe a switch to Matcha could be the right call for you @tropeaka ’s Organic Matcha Tea is my go-to at the moment as a coffee substitute

My training philosophy is fairly similar to my exercise selection when I program an athletes rehab I never reinvent the wheel The big rocks stay as the big rocks I like to pull different movements in and out of a program depending on a persons rate of adaptability and how challenging each athletes finds it I often program rehab in blocks but if someone is completely maxed out on a certain movement, we move onto a different weakness that’s found in testing Also my gas tank kinda sucks at the moment, so time to program some off-feet conditioning that I dish out to patients . . . 📍4/734 Karrinyup Rd, Stirling 💻 Book online via 🏷️ Socials @stirling.physio #strengthtraining #physio #rehab

Gabi is back and (other than getting married!) is injury free Now injury prevention is the target of her treatment currently The Athletic Shoulder Testing with VALD Dynamometry showed some serious imbalances in her shoulder strength with 20% differences between sides This isn’t in and of itself a sign of pathology but for her sport, strength symmetry is VERY important and shouldn’t be neglected . . . 📍4/734 Karrinyup Rd, Stirling 💻 Book online via 🏷️ Socials @stirling.physio #StirlingPhysio #physio #crossfit

You don’t need perfection, you need consistency The WHO guidelines are a minimum, not a punishment Move more, strengthen twice a week and choose what you enjoy. If pain is stopping you, get guidance early

Scans like MRI’s, X-Ray and ultrasound are great tools - but they don’t tell the whole story. Research shows lots of pain-free people have disc bulges, arthritis or tendon changes on scans. And at the same time, some people have significant pain with a completely ‘normal’ scan. That’s because pain is more than just we see on imaging - it’s influenced by movement, load, sleep, stress and how your nervous system is behaving. Curious about your scan?
