I was very happy to meet my work "Round'n'round" again at the fantastic exhibition "KUNST.HÅND.VERK" @kodebergen in Bergen. The piece was exhibited only once at the Annual Craft Exhibition in 2016 and got acquired by the museum. Round’n’round, object with ring, old teak table, 750 gold, iron screw. "I used a gold ring to fix the table leg I destroyed to carve a ring; some form of cycling." The ring consists of 21 grams of 18k (750) gold. In 2016, when I created the piece, the gold value of the ring was approximately 6,300 NOK. Now, in 2026, the gold value is around 25,000 NOK (I received 21,000 NOK for the entire work). I originally made a prototype with a brass ring to take photos for the Annual Craft Exhibitions (Årsutstillingen) application. Only after the work was selected to the second round of judging did I invest in the gold ring and assemble it. The exhibition consists of more than hundred works and is shown until 16th August. @norskekunsthandverkere @klimt02_barcelona #somesortofcycling #roundnround #foundobject #ring #woodcarving #destroying #repairing #gold #value #contemporarycraft #contemporaryjewellery

These three brooches got acquired by the @dannerstiftung . "The Danner Foundation's jewelry collection is one of the most prestigious collections of contemporary jewelry, encompassing pieces from 1945 to the present day. It was given to @dieneuesammlung – The Design Museum Munich as a permanent loan in 1999 and is supplemented and expanded with new pieces every year. Pieces from the collection are exhibited in rotating curatorial displays in the Danner Rotunda at the @pinakothekdermoderne in Munich." I am so thrilled and grateful for these three individuals being included in this wonderful collection. Many thanks to everybody involved! 💛🍄‍🟫🫖 1. This specific abandoned aluminium coffee kettle popped up in a small forest in the city last year. I walk through it almost daily on my way to the metro station, and I am amazed by the variation of mushrooms it hosts, even porcini in a good season. Coffee kettles seem to be a common find in forests in and around Oslo. I must have found about twelve different types in recent years, most of them in aluminium, but also some in copper and enamelled iron. Boiling coffee on a camp fire is deeply ingrained in Norwegian culture. They might be left behind by hikers, campers, hunters, fisherman or forestry workers, or just simply dumped as outdated kitchen appliances. #foundobject #forest #mushrooms #discardedobjects #discardedcoffeekettles #coffeekettle

The Annual Craft Exhibition 2025 by @norskekunsthandverkere opened 6th December at the Lillehammer Art Museum @lillehammerkunstmuseum . I am deeply grateful that "Semi-hot I & II" got acquired and will become part of the permanent collection of the wonderful Museum of Applied Arts Cologne @makkoeln . The brooches are made from a broken ribbed aluminium thermos bottle found in a forest around Oslo. Such thermos bottles were produced somewhere between the '40s and the '70s in Germany. I used the bottom of the thermos to create the brooches' hats, one (barely) reads "MADE IN", the other "GERMANY". The exhibition can be visited until 15th March 2026. Semi-hot I & II, 2024, brooches, aluminium thermos bottle found in the forest, teak coffee table and zinc-plated steel found in the city, steel screws, steel wire. Photos: (1) Camilla Damgård / Lillehammer Kunstmuseum, (2-8) Aliona Pazdniakova @alionapaz_com "When I roam the forests looking for mushrooms, I often find unexpected objects; remains of human activity. The forest leaves its mark on the surfaces over time. I don't know how these objects ended up there. They are carriers of their own stories. Coffee pots, tools, sardine cans, golf balls, thermos bottles; they become part of a growing collection. I use my own imagination. In order to transform the material into brooches without changing its surface, I included teak wood from a coffee table and zinc-plated iron sheets found at a garbage dump in the city." #foundobject #forest #mushrooms #thermos #thermosbottle #vintagethermos #semihot #contemporaryjewellery #artexhibition #kunstutstilling #contemporaryjewellery #smykkekunst @klimt02_barcelona

Even though rocket fireworks have been banned in Oslo since 2008, I still come across such plastic parts very often in the forests around the city. Plastic lighters are a common find too. 🚀🔥🍄 #foundobject #forest #mushrooms #discardedobjects #fireworks #lighter #commonfinds

recover Munich Jewellry Week, March 4-7 Opening reception: Thursday March 5, 4-8pm   Philipp Spillmann is recovering long lost, decaying items from the forest, only to reconfigure them into the thing attempting to sprout from their remains. While reassigning the found from its status as litter into a jewel, the transformation that occurs in his hands with materials in counterpoint grabs us. It asks us about cycles, our habits of neglect or curiosity and willingness, laughing, to wear the anecdote.   Semi-fine V & VI Brooch set, 2024 Aluminum coffee kettle found in the forest, teak coffee table and zinc-plated steel found in the city, steel screws, steel wire. 80 x 45 x 25 mm/80 x 45 x 25 mm Photos: Aliona Pazdniakova   Join us @munichjewelleryweek for recover.   Gallery art:ig @galleryartig Corneliusstrasse 19 Near Gärtnerplatz   Sharareh Aghaei @sharareh.aghaei

It was born from the three organizers’ shared love of upholstery. They recognized that the literal structure of wood, wire and textile under tension, layers of thick and thin material, can be transmuted into layers of meaning in a conceptual jewelry context. This, along with conversations about the crucial need for community and healing, formed into the title recover, encapsulating both.

Theresa Wingert, Franziska Langheinrich and I invite you to recover.
As protest and protection.
A combined effort to make hardness soft.

Eviggrønn (Evergreen). 🌿🪏🌱🪏🍃 2025. Stord Vidaregåande Skule @stord_vgs (Stord upper secondary school). Eight wall sculptures made from various used steel spade blades and ash wood. To work the hardened steel of the spade blades, I used my goldsmith hand tools; small cutting discs, burs, files and emery paper. The shafts are carved from solid ash wood, precisely fitted to the blades by @andreasgrega who also helped me to mount the sculptures professionally. Thank you for the fantastic work, masterful help and the wonderful road trip over the mountains to Stord! 🪚🚗🪏 Many thanks to @vestlandfylke and art consultant Hilde Skjeggestad and good luck to all the present and future students @stord_vgs ! 🍀 Picture 10: Bjørn Feltnes #stord #stordkommune #stordvgs #stordvidaregåandeskule #befaring #utsmykking #utsmykning #kunstioffentligerom #commissionart #artinpublic #kristtorn #commonholly #holly #monstera #monsteradeliciosa #spade #ashwood

In November 2024 I went to Stord, an island in Vestland county of Norway, to have a look at the construction site of the new upper secondary school (Stord vidaregåande skule) in order to create a commission work. I had some time after the inspection and walked around Leirvik, the administrative centre of the municipality. It didn't take long before I discovered holly, both growing wild by the side of the road and in Stord's municipal coat of arms. Holly is Norway's only evergreen deciduous tree and thrives well in the mild climate of Stord. It struck me that the holly's distinctive leaves also have a symbolic value, just like the monstera leaves. Holly grows wild outside and is local, monstera is exotic, tropical and is used as a houseplant. Both are very common in Stord. I came across several monstera plants in Leirvik; in the cultural center, in the shopping mall, in restaurants, shop windows and windows of private homes. Some are alive, others are mass-produced in plastic; a classic bestseller at Ikea. #stord #stordkommune #stordvgs #stordvidaregåandeskule #befaring #utsmykking #utsmykning #kunstioffentligerom #commissionart #artinpublic #kristtorn #commonholly #holly #monstera #monsteradeliciosa

Bordbein (engl. meaning: table bone or table leg), object with brooch, carved out of old teak table leg (beech), lead, 925 silver, steel needle. 🦴🦴🦴 Photo: @alionapaz_com "Bordbein" is currently part of the big, playful and multifaceted contemporary crafts exhibition "ART·HAND·WORK" (KUNST·HÅND·VERK) @nasjonalmuseet in Oslo. The exhibition opened at the 19th September and is shown until 1st February. Go and see it if you are in Oslo! The wearable brooch is carved out of the beech-wood-leg of an old teak-veneer-table. The mutilated table functions as a pedestal. Back in 2019 I made two versions: "Bordbein" and "Bordbein#3". The latter is available at @friends_of_carlotta in Zurich. #foundobject #bone #tischbein #bordbein #teaktable #contemporaryjewellery #nasjonalmuseet @norskekunsthandverkere @klimt02_barcelona
