Wrapping up 2025 with some of my favourite portrait commissions of the last 12 months. Lucky to meet so many brilliant and interesting people through photography, so a huge thank you to everyone I worked and collaborated with last year 📷
The weird and wonderful world of artist Adam Barker-Mill.
Adam’s sculptures and art pieces shape every corner of his fairytale home and studio near Southampton, interacting with light, architecture, and the unique interior design in magical ways.
It was an absolute joy to capture recently for @ft_houseandhome - thanks @gemma_l_walters for the wonderful commission.
So pleased to have my image shortlisted in Portrait of Britain by The British Journal of Photography for the fourth year in a row!
It will be featured in the upcoming Portrait of Britain Vol. 8 photobook published by Bluecoat Press.
My shortlisted image is of Hugh Corcoran and Lady Frances Armstrong-Jones, owners of The Yellow Bittern restaurant. Shot this year for @nytimes for an article by @amelia.nierenberg - thanks to the brilliant @gabrielheliosanchez for the commission!
And huge thanks to @bjp1854@bluecoatpress@wepresent@jcdecaux_uk along with all the judges @rene.matic@__sophie.parker__@dennismcevoymorris@missrees@alice.zoo@hohumha@tomboothwoodger and Vivienne Gamble.
Congrats to all the shortlisted photographers!

Today’s Books cover in @gdnsaturday featuring British literary icon @malorie_blackman - who I had the pleasure of photographing last month in London.
Pig Heart Boy was one of the first “proper” books I remember reading growing up, and was my favourite for a long time.
Thanks @sadierae75 for the lovely commission and to @royalcourttheatre for hosting.
The colourful Papers & Paints in Chelsea. The 65 year old paint shop is owned by architectural paint historian Patrick Baty and his wife Alex, and founded by Patrick’s father Robert in 1960.
I always think it’s worth appreciating traditional specialist shops like @papersandpaints while we have them, which are still run by people who are genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. Something that seems rarer these days!
A lovely place to capture for @fthtsi - thanks @amaraeno for the commission.
The brilliant @jamielaing at his favourite spots in London for today’s @fthtsi
We were on a tight schedule to make sure Jamie made it to Radio 1 in time for his show. The nation would have never forgiven me otherwise.
Thanks @amaraeno for the call and @juliettehwright for assisting.
I photographed artist @lisaherfeldt for @guardian last week at @roland_ross_ gallery while setting up for her current exhibition. It showcases her weird and wonderful silicone pieces, the larger of which reminded me of an egg from the Alien films. She let me poke the spongy top that bulged out of the acrylic case and it did feel like touching something extraterrestrial…
Thanks @elenagoodinson for the commission!
Loved photographing the magical garden at Knowle House this summer for @ft_houseandhome
The garden is designed by @thesussexplanthunter whose amazing work has transformed it into an exotic paradise. I loved hearing Chris’s stories of collecting plants from all over the world on his travels. It’s always fun meeting people who have followed their passions and are working at the top of their game.
Thanks to @nickhall895 for the lovely commission!
Recent photo essay for @nytimes capturing the Jane Austen festival in Bath, where over 2000 people in Regency costume paraded through the city for the 250th anniversary of the novelist's birth.
Met some lovely people from all around the world in some amazing hand-made costumes.
I've never seen anything like it with a whole city taken over as a playground for the weekend. A really visually exciting story to work on.
Thanks to @ericabackerberg for the lovely commission!
And to @juliettehwright for holding my bag when I couldn't anymore. 50,000+ steps takes a toll!
A recent shoot with Mick Herron, author of Slow Horses and the Slough House spy novel series, which inspired the popular Apple TV+ show. Photographed at Oxford Uni’s Balliol library for the recent @gdnsaturday Books cover.
Thanks elenagoodinson @miketrow@sadierae75
