How important is a strong Europe in a changing world and what are the EU’s priority areas for investment? @nadia_calvino President of the European Investment Bank breaks it down. Pleasure to meet you madam President.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM @nidcom_gov , has applauded Emmy-nominated journalist and international broadcaster Gbolahan Macjob @peter_macjob for his record-setting Nollywood epic Ireke: Rise of the Maroons.
Written, produced, and directed by Macjob, Ireke has broken new ground as the first Nigerian local language film to premiere at Cannes, achieved a historic worldwide premiere across London, Lagos, and Abeokuta on the same day, and set records with the longest Nollywood theatrical run in the UK.
This recognition marks not only a personal triumph for Macjob but also a milestone in Nollywood’s expanding global narrative.

Nollywood Film Festival Paris has been an absolute blast. Thank you @nifsummit for another brilliant “Best of Africa showcase”. As for this song, well I’m already skinny as I barely eat, so I just need everything else on the list.
Efe Ejukorlem - Executive Director of The Herd movie and me, writer/director/EP of Ireke: Rise of the Maroons movie. Nollywood!!! This revolution will be televised. #diaspora #globalaudience
True story! I watched @thereelclivemyrie Caribbean Adventure documentary on @bbciplayer during which the #maroon community of Jamaica was mentioned. I googled and became enthralled with the story of the Maroon rebellion and felt the urge to bring that story to the screen. It’s like the Maroon Spirit was calling me for a higher purpose.
Enter Ireke: Rise of the Maroons, first Maroon feature film, done in local language - coming soon to your telly. Watch this space. Thanks Clive ☺️
What a special night. Watching this beautiful documentary with Sir @davidattenborough in attendance, weeks after seeing these amazing beings in person. Many thanks to @wwf for their work and special thanks to @rdbrwanda for the invitation but most importantly for creating the enabling environment for these gorillas to thrive, to @rwandainuk for being a great host and @netflix for bringing it to our screens.
Finding the Gorillas is one thing, but hiking hundreds of kilometres up the volcanic mountain top to do that requires good cardio and good knees, both of which I used to have 😂.
Believe me when I tell you, that nothing compares to a silverback gorilla 🦍 aura. Spending time with this particular family is a reminder of the fact these majestic creatures have 98% of our dna.
The females watch as their kids play, whilst the Alpha male is relaxing nearby snacking but would occasionally make grunts and beat his chest as if setting some boundaries about not wanting to be disturbed. As for us, well the rangers already warned us not to look him in the eye or stand tall, so I was on my knees throughout the encounter. And the gorilla babies? Absolutely adorable. I could pick them up and kiss them, that’s how much human they felt to me. @rwanda__ did a thing here.
