Looking back at some of these old logos I designed through the years. Got me thinking 🤔 Maybe I should start to tell a little backstory on the making of each of these icons and share a glimps on what was happening in my life at the time. Merging the skate and graffiti movements very early on from my hometown of San Diego. Many of these logos are big in the hearts of many. So I’ve been told. ❤️

Billie asked for me to “BOMB” his beloved ‘62 Ford Falcon and I was happy to oblige. The car took 6 separate sessions. Materials of choice, spray paint applied by freehand and a couple of stencils.

From subway walls to gallery halls, @wearewetpaint celebrates graffiti as a global movement.
We teamed up with melin fam @persue1 to create a custom hat - a piece of wearable art that’s coming soon - that brings a bit of NYC energy to LA. Wet Paint began with the iconic “Wet Paint” signs from New York City subway stations. Persue pulled hundreds of these signs and sent them to artists around the world, each one transformed into something uniquely beautiful. See these one of a kind works at @secretwalls in DTLA now through April 5.

Whether it’s landing a trick, hitting a wall with a spray can, or perfecting a recipe, it all comes from the same place of self-expression.
Growing up in Rancho Peñasquitos, Chef Andrew and Dave Persue - a respected veteran of the graffiti game - ran in the same circles for years. But it wasn’t until Andrew reached out to have Dave “christen” the walls of Chick & Hawk that the friendship officially came full circle. This is the intersection Andrew always dreamed of exploring: the sweet spot where culinary arts, design, and skateboarding meet.
This project brought Dave back to his roots, creating in a skate town and working with a brand built on the same perseverance skating teaches you: You fall. You get back up. You try again.
In this video, we meet Dave to talk shop, craft, and the concrete that connects us. Enjoy the first in our series exploring the pulse of Chick & Hawk through the lens of art, design, and community.
