And just like that, 10/10, what a time! I had the honor of meeting and being apart of a group of artists that all had the goal of just creating dope work. From beginning to end, I loved it to say the least. So what had happened wasā¦I basically free-styled the whole thing, no plan yāall, as I wanted to just take it all in and experience of what itās like really do āliveā art and feel what itās like to trust my own instincts, make quick decisions, and feel confident in the end. So guess who did that? Me! So would I do it again? Hell yeah! But huge thanks to @theblocksslc for coordinating such an amazing experience for folks like me who like to create new experiences for the unfamiliar.
Also shout to @pjayswalwrites for curating such an incredible story about the whole event. She did her thing so please check out the entire article!
And just like that I was able to kick off Pride Month w/ some sexy, cool, Queer shit for you to enjoy as you stroll behind @ficegallery . I never would have imagined Iād be able to design and participate in something like this, but I did that! āļø
Big, huge, fat THANK YOU to @sister.slc for trusting me & my vision. I also had the most amazing team that had the coolest music and prettiest smiles as well so big fat thank you to them! šš½

@perhaps.knot Get to know more about Shaandiin Powell featured at the Central Park Community Centerā¦
.
āWhat excites me most is being part of the progression happening in South Salt Lake and across Utah in general. Witnessing the growth and development firsthand is incredible, and it truly feels like the city is reimagining how art is woven into everyday life. Iām inspired by the opportunity to contribute something that can brighten someoneās day in an unexpected and accessible way. Through art, I hope not only to uplift the community but also to inspire others to see their surroundings, and themselves, a little differently.ā
.
āIf thereās anything I want people to take away, itās that creativity belongs to everyone. No one should feel like they canāt pursue something simply because it feels out of reach. Discovering the ways I am able to express myself has meant everything to me, and I hope others allow themselves that same opportunity.ā
.
Shaandiinās finished work will be featured at 2797 S 200 E on the west side of the Central Park Community Center.

Meet the Artist....
@perhaps.knot
Shaandiin Powell is a classically trained multimedia artist and graphic designer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her diverse background enriches her artistic approach, blending personal experiences into her creative work. Through her art, Shaandiin strives to forge connections, celebrating the beauty and messiness of both internal and external worlds, while inspiring and empowering others along the way.
"My work is inspired by life and its entirety, its rhythm, its tension, and its transformation. I embrace uncertainty, allowing both the highs and the lows to shape my perspective and creative voice. Sharing my experiences while remaining open to the world around me is central to my artistic practice.
Community is also my foundation. My family and the community I surround myself with are constant sources of inspiration and very much so grounding. Though I have always been drawn to art, stepping fully into the role of an āartistā required a lot of courage. Since claiming that space, I discovered that authentic expression is not only personal but also very powerful."
Fun Fact about Shaandiin:
"If I werenāt pursuing my path as an artist, I would likely explore becoming a chef, cosmetologist, or an art teacher. Each of these roles, in its own way, centers on creativity and human connection ā creating experiences, helping others feel confident, or guiding them toward discovering their own voice."
Welcome to Mural Fest, Shaandiin!

So it happened! Again Iām terrible with keeping up with people and the whole social media thing (itās apart of my New Yearās resolution to be better)ā¦BUT my first SOLO show was a success! Itās so crazy to think that people actually care about the art that I do. I have this crazy complex that sometimes the way I express myself is not accepted in the way that I expect it toā¦so I seriously really appreciate everyone that showed up but also itās sometimes crazy to think that other people may ACTUALLY care as much I do.
THANK YOU @ficegallery for all the amazing help and hospitality. Also thank you @badgyrlriri for the AMAZING tunes and thank you @maruquevedo for just keeping me on track! Thank you @yoalirez for the dope film photos!
Itās HAPPENING! My first SOLO show!
If you love me youāll come and show me some love, enjoy the work, absorb the vibes that Iām sharing with the world, and just have good time within your being. Itās been a tough journey for me but Iām ready to share the fruits of my labor with the world that accepts it. COME AND HYPE ME UP!

āMoody Kittyā - 4x4 Panel
MY SON! Rico de Gallo, my cat, has been the best thing in the world. Since 2019 this dude has been there (against his will, not his fault) for me and Iāve loved every second of it. Like his mother (me), he is very much so moody but ima still stick beside him. Heās the most coolest, loving, attention whore you could ever ask for. He yells for food and then throws it up sometimes but also will come when you call in a time of need. This piece is for him cause he is king (he doesnāt pay rent) š
Nonetheless, itās always dope to pop out for @urbanartsfest and shout out to @jscheuerman for plugging me in!
Also, interviewing with the news was wild and Iām sure my son would be proud ā¤ļøšø
āI Saw Nothingā - 8FTX8FT Panel
Definitely super cool to do some art with friends who appreciate art @unityblockparty . Nonetheless thank you @amalgamationstudiollc for reaching out and allowing me to express myself!
This piece is inspired by those who see whatās wrong, and do nothing. Inspired by those who hear whatās going on, and do nothing. And those who know whatās going on, and say nothing. Turning a blind eye can cause chaos and I will always be one to stand up for those left in the dark. DO SOMETHING!
What an amazing opportunity this was to help design, create & facilitate with @utahparentcenter šš½
I was given the opportunity to do a live mural with the COMMUNITY. I had so much fun chatting it up with the kids and I met so many amazing individuals. Simple things like art and comradery is something that I love the most. Nonetheless, HUGE shoutout to the folks that helped me through this whole process because it truly takes a village. Iām so happy with how everything turned out and hope to keep goingggggg! ā¤ļø

āMental Monster Partyā
Digital Illustration
24x36
Yāall this piece is a peek into the wild and chaotic world inside my mind. It depicts the strange, playful, or āscaryā monsters that each represent different thoughts, feelings, or mental states whether itās stress, excitement, fear, or creativity.
These monsters are all part of a bizarre party, showing how our emotions and thoughts, good and bad, can mix together in unexpected ways. The work for me just blends humor and darkness to explore what itās like to live with a busy, sometimes overwhelming mind in this world.
Nonetheless, itās been hard to get shit right, make mistakes, and even accept the wins lately but Iām really proud to have completed something thatās for ME.
Enjoy trying to figure everything out ā¤ļø
