What a way to kick off an incredible weekend of music with an amazing lineup of familiar and legendary acts for day one. The weather was great, vibes weee high and every act came to perform with great sets from @modestmouse and the return of @fatherjohnmisty both with new songs and a horn section?! @turnstileluvconnection turned it up for the finale with frothing fans waiting for their thunderous set. @diespitz can certainly kick the cute out of metal music while the rodeo grounds turned into a rodeo mosh pit with @showmethebody

Meet Josh Scheuerman one of the six local artists behind Folsom Trail: Hidden Waters!
Josh is a multifaceted creative-painter, graphic designer, and photographer-whose work champions community and environmental activism. Since 1999, he's been carving out a thoughtful, collaborative presence in Salt Lake City's artistic landscape, driven by a passion for storytelling.
From journalism and publishing to concert photography and community boards, Josh has traversed varied creative paths, all leading to his current work in visual art and design. His Water Drop will weave together his commitment to environmental activism with the story of City Creek's journey beneath our streets.

In 2002 @rilokileyofficial released ‘The Excision of All Things’ on @saddlecreek which I was familiar with and a huge fan of all bands coming out of Omaha at the time. I had a chance to interview them for @slugmag as a young journalist they were gaining more national recognition alongside @mwardtravelogue .

This story started as a fan, but in its infancy @kilbycourt was also gaining steam having been opened for a mere three years at the time with the help of @goprintgo artwork which was also featured in SLUG as well along with local icons at the time. Slow goes the river to the reunion of Rilo Kiley at @kilbyblockparty , a mural of this cover on a prominent building close to Kilby and one of a handful of shows next month @complexslc on May 25!

Yes, that’s a lot of tags, but everything eventually is connected in one way or another and the love of art, music and community are intricately woven together in time. You just never know when it’s happening.
HOTEL THAYNES - PARK CITY

Last fall in the nick of time for painting this poolside mural before winter kicked off and temperatures dropped in November. From the concept of each season, winter and summer bookended between the fireplace for winter warmth and summer nighttime ambiance. The older hotel got a full redesign in the past year from rooms, decor and an outside patio redesign. Thank you to @indiewalls team for the love!
Rocky ‘The Space Cat’ at 16!

Rocky is old enough to drive here in the states and old enough to drink back home! Spent the day eating all the favorite treats and hanging out in the sun. We picked up a Sugar House Wizard necklace as well, which was fitting for the wizard hat.
Cheers to another year around the sun with the best Space Cat, companion and champion anyone could ever ask for. Love you to the moon and back Rocky!

DENTED BRICK DISTILLERY – QUILTING BRICKS 🧱
Having known the staff and owners @dentedbrickdistillery for a few years—since @sandrafettingis painted the outside of the building for @themuralfest —it was a pleasure to work with them to bring some colorful interior design to the space, using their bold label colors as inspiration for the blanket cinderblock walls inside.
I believe murals can be many things at once, and it’s important to work with the space to create something both inspired and fitting—like stitching bricks together to tie the brand to the building in this case.
Shout out to our Sugar House brewery, @hopkinsbrewingco for the opportunity to beatify their restrooms with lilies, hydrangeas and columbines. The full wrap experience from the mirrors which elevates the experience. Check it out in person on any given night paired with food, brew and weekly events.
BONANZA SUNSET

This commissioned piece found its way to a friend’s home in Park City after they purchased a painting at the @recycleutah annual fundraiser at @pcski last fall. The image was inspired by Bonanza Flat, the preserve at the top of Guardsman’s Pass, which was protected in 2016 in partly by the citizens of Park City through a city bond. The 1,500 acres are home to alpine lakes, quaking aspens, and vital wildlife habitat, as well as those beautiful sunsets over the Wasatch.
