INJOY ENTERTAINMENT SPOTLIGHT: ROWDIES IN LOVE by Hari Krishnan’s inDANCE
On #internationaldanceday #worlddanceday (April 29) I’m proud to produce and spotlight Hari Krishnan’s
@indanceglobal ROWDIES IN LOVE. The occasion couldn’t be more apropos as we just arrived at the renowned
@jacobspillow to perform four performances at the Doris Duke Theatre May 1-3, 2026 (tix in bio). It’s full circle as this is where the work was incubated.
ROWDIES IN LOVE is a radical, queer contemporary dance work with modern Bharatanatyam accents. It features 9 captivating male and nonbinary dancers exploring intimacy, intensity and sensuality by alternating explosive physicality and sensuous depths with exceptional “kick-ass” technique and rigor.
ROWDIES captures a complex multiplicity of ideas while also asking a simple and age-old human question: Why do we fall in love? “That led to this amazing, astonishing, dare I say one-of-a-kind, spark,” Krishnan says of the personal yet expansive, collaborative piece.
ROWDIES is singular in its reshaping of ideas around Indian & contemporary dance, and representation of queer identity. “For the first time, I was able to integrate all of these different streams of interest, 35 years of research, and humanity together in a single work.”
ROWDIES IN LOVE is available for touring worldwide 2026-2028. Contact Cindy Sibilsky for details.
