When your mom turns 88 years young — it is really special. This weekend I surprised mom with a trip to NYC. We stayed at the beautiful Lowell Hotel — highly recommend. We went to a show…she wanted to see Wicked and it was marvelous. We went on a carriage ride through Central Park — loved it and we went to the Frick Museum — which we loved as well. We’ve had a lot of amazing food too. Happy Birthday Mom. We all love you very much. Thank you for the privilege of being your daughter 🥰🥰💜💜🎂🎂 Ohhh and we’ve had lots of wonderful champagne 🤣🤣

Every year on July 28, I reminiscence about all the milestones that have occurred over the years. Graduations, birthdays, weddings, vacations holidays…all of the day-to-day things that occur that make up our family. Most recently we welcomed our second grandson Liam. Melanie would have embraced every moment with passion and love. She would have loved being an auntie, watching her nephews Connor and Liam grow. Many of her friends are now married with children and we get to enjoy watching their beautiful children grow. Every year during this week our family gets together at the beach to celebrate her life…the week is filled with games, cook offs relay races, and lots of laughs. This year with the arrival of Liam we are putting it off for a little while. I often wonder if Melanie is watching all these milestones, and then I realize she’s got the best seat in the house.
