✨ Philadelphia… are you ready for a NIGHT? ✨
To celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States, the Urban League of Greater Philadelphia is bringing Grammy-nominated R&B sensation Amerie to the stage as our Special Guest Performer for the 2026 Annual Empowerment Gala.
Yes… THAT Amerie. 🔥
From timeless hits to an unforgettable stage presence, Amerie helped shape the soundtrack of an era, and on May 21, she’ll help us celebrate a night rooted in culture, legacy, joy, and community impact.
This will not be your typical gala.
We’re celebrating the power of our communities, honoring legacy leaders, awarding scholarships to the next generation, dancing, singing, raising critical funds for our Community Scholarship Program, and reminding Philadelphia exactly what it looks like when purpose and celebration come together under one roof.
And trust us… the entertainment for the evening is going to be INCREDIBLE.

Philly representing this International ME Awareness Day (May 12th) thanks to @tina_yes@solve_cfs and @pecoconnect .
This message will be scrolling atop the Philly skyline today, tomorrow (May 12th), and Wednesday (May 13th) to highlight the lack of treatments/cures for myalgic encephalomyelitis (misnamed chronic fatigue syndrome and sometimes called ME/cfs)— a debilitating condition involving neuroimmune and metabolic dysfunction, often triggered by an infection such as C19.
Too many have suffered for too long! We need biomedical research investments to find effective treatments/cures!

The Borough Stroll yesterday was such an amazing experience! I absolutely loved meeting new friends and being a part of this lovely community. My heart is so full today! I especially want to send the BIGGEST thank you to the men from PECO who came out very quickly and fixed the meter that was leaking gas 😵💫🤭😁
