Real solutions start with listening! The Overdose Response Unit and GVI program developed the JJOP initiative to bring young people to the table to learn how we can weave overdose prevention and substance use education throughout the justice system. #healthycities

We closed out National Second Chance Month with our banner event, the Reentry Job Fair in partnership with Temple U. which had over 600 participants! Our Job Fair included dozens of free ID renewals via Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Philadelphia Municipal IDs, and over 50 employers and resource providers including banking, health and education resources. This is equity of access and service with dignity in action. Thank you to our partners for working with us for a successful event, Director Assata Michelle, MARJ for her continued leadership and Michael Robinson (Temple U) and Jeff Abramowitz of the Petey Greene Foundation.

As part of Second Chance Month, we partnered with Commissioner Omar Sabir to ensure that individuals impacted by the criminal legal system understand their right to vote. With voter registration deadlines approaching on May 4th and a May 19th Primary election this civic engagement event was critical for Natl. 2nd Chance Month. Special thanks to our partners Celeste Trusty, 2nd Chance Voters, Senator Sharif Street, Dr. Shondell Revell, and ODAAT!
