Si chiama NUR Joe Davis is the founder of the Far Out Recordings, established in London in ‘94 from his passion for Brazilian music, shaped through the jazz, funk and soul sounds of London’s 1980s rare groove scene. His travels between London and Brazil led him to discover artists that helped introduce Brazilian music to the UK long before it became part of the language of DJs and record collectors. He has played at clubs and festivals including Glastonbury, Fabric, Ministry of Sound and Bar Rumba, delivering sets that move between Brazilian sounds, latin jazz, broken beat, disco, soul and electronic music. Widely regarded as one of the key ambassadors of Brazilian music in Europe, Davis has shared booths and musical visions with artists such as Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Kyoto Jazz Massive and Nicola Conte, earning recognition for his deep musical knowledge and timeless selections. I make at least one Nirobi Edit for every gig I do, so I have a special track specifically for that gig / event / audience. We definitely let the light in on Saturday at a beautifully formed springtime Our Time Is Now session. Technically, if you play records 4 minutes long and you are playing a 2 hour set warming up for a headliner, you could get by with 30 records. But that lack of choice wouldn't make possible decisions made regarding the ebbs and flows of mood within your own set and indeed may not leave the headline DJ with the vibe they want. So here's about 90 records I've pulled out for this coming weekend! Stuff that I've either loved hearing on Naima's Klipsch beauts before or tunes I've been looking forward to share on them for some time. I've still to throw in some new stuff and it would be rude not to have at least a small bag of 45s wouldn't it? Verdict now i get the reissue: far away in basslines horns amplitude sound is far away better on OG copy I have NM condition vinyl !!! Also on the reissue s got 2 tracks not on OG but not interesting and that s make compression on the main track all we want sadly! Get OG copy if U can I will put off mine on sell straight away from Discogs
