From Pathway to Paris: Based in NYC, a local initiative of Pathway to Paris is supporting the Elizabeth Street Garden and fighting to save it from being demolished by the city. This fight, now in its 11th year, has reached a crucial point of urgency as the city moves to evict the garden this fall. But we are not giving up! Local organizations, businesses, institutions, and masses of individuals are using their voices to make noise around this story. It’s a topic which goes beyond that of only this garden - it’s about the protection of greenspaces and public art throughout NYC, throughout the nation. It’s a question of priorities, an urgent conversation of the direction we are moving into as a society. What is the future of our cities? As we move to transition away from fossil fuels and into a fully renewable and sustainable future, we need to value and protect our greenspaces more than ever. Live at Le Trianon features Thom Yorke, Patti Smith, Flea & Warren Ellis, Jesse Paris Smith, Rebecca Foon, Tenzin Choegyal, and Fally Ipupa. The album is a testament to the power of music as a driving force for change, advocating for climate justice and pushing for the importance of meeting and going beyond the targets outlined in the Paris Agreement. On April 6th 2024, Jesse and Becky and Giovanni Caccamo spoke at the United Nations in honor of the Change the World Forum for the Youth and Future Project. A moment of celebration and light of coming together, envisioning a sustainable future for us all. #1000cities

On April 12, we helped to bless our dear friend Walton Ford’s new exhibition at the @themorganlibrary as it opened to the public. His work of course speaks for itself and doesn’t need our shepherding, but we were still so happy to be part of its unveiling. It was a perfect Earth Month and Poetry Month moment, to celebrate our friend’s latest triumph, continuing his legacy of standing in humble representation of the animal kingdom and the divine and strange stories it tells in all its wildness. After seeing the exhibition (which I hope you will visit too), we performed 2 songs, and a sweetly sorrowful poem chronicling the story of the Dodo, a beloved animal who of course went extinct due to human involvement and belligerence. This poem was chosen with care for Walton and for his work: this mission seemingly sent to him directly from above, and which he has listened to with whole self, following through with indefatigable service. He works as both an artist and an advocate for the animal world, raising awareness and calling for a better future. To him and all the individuals using their platforms for good, we are grateful.

Dear friends, yesterday, on the occasion of the Change the World Forum at the United Nations, in collaboration with @associazione_diplomatici and @pathway2paris we launched with @michiganmanhattan @foonbeck @alessiazanelli_ @antoniospadaro and a special video performance of Patti Smith with a lot of artist from all over the world, the Youth and Future project, the international extension of Parola ai giovani, the call for ideas originally launched in Italy in 2022. What would you change about the society you live in and how? What is your word for change? These were the two questions answered in writing by thousands of young Italians. The most enlightening and profound answers have been collected in the book Manifesto del Cambiamento, with the extraordinary preface by Pope Francis. Today, I address the same questions to all young people from all over the world. People of all religions, backgrounds, gender identity and social classes. Let’s build together the international #ManifestoForChange, a global book that will collect the stories, the longings and the outlooks of the new generations, marking the course of a possible-future.
