ᴄʜᴀɴɴᴇʟ sᴜʀғɪɴɢ — exploring a patch from Émilie that suggests using a keyboard like a big CV remote control to modulate patch parameters.
In these clips the keyboard's V/Oct CV output is patched to the "density" of @dnipro.modular 's “Dot” Euclidean gate sequencer, which is controlling 3 drum patterns. So plonking different keys on the keyboard reshuffles 3 Euclidean patterns simultaneously—and in different directions, with help from @futuresoundsystems Makrow, which lets you mult and scale 6 instances of one signal. (And a few of the extra outputs from Makrow are also controlling drum parameters to get things sounding a bit more dynamic.).
Also fun to try using the keyboard's arpeggiator (unsynched in this patch) to do the keyboard playing for me, and over more octaves (i.e., a bigger CV range), so it gets a bit more dynamic and off-kilter, fun way to generate unexpected rhythms!

This example is a 3-voice version of the patch, using 2 shift registers. One pitch sequences goes from Marbles to a VCO. The same sequence is also sent to the two shift registers (one set of SR outputs going to a switch), before going to two other VCOs. A clock divider is used to run everything at different rates, which causes the notes to overlap in different ways—a bit like a round (Row, row, row your boat).

⚡️Combining two rhythm patching favorites: clock modulation and probabilistic skipping. The percussive layers in this patch are driven by Uncertainty, a clever new module (blinking red in the lower right, next to Kinks) by my friends at @oamodular — it’s a one input, eight output ‘fixed probability bank’.
To get off-kilter / stuttering rhythms, Uncertainty is clocked with different divisons—x4, x6, and x8—coming out of a sequential switch, and cycled through using a probabilistic gate from one of Uncertainty’s lower outputs. (The lower the output, the less likely it is to produce a gate).
One way to try roll-your-own probabilistic skipping: combine a bit of stepped random voltage (say, from the output of a S&H) with a voltage offset in a utility mixer, and use this mix of CV to control gates (or any signal) patched to a VCA. Increasing the offset *increases* the probability that the input signal will pass through the VCA, progressively overriding the influence of the stepped random voltage until the VCA stays fully open. Reducing (and even attenuverting) the offset *decreases* the likelihood that the input will pass through, progressively increasing the influence of the stepped random voltage, and (if attenuverting) subtracting voltage from it until the VCA stays full closed (and therefore muting any input).
