On March 28 and 29, small groups of spectators were welcomed into the intimate setting of San Carlo Church in Reggio Emilia to witness Murillo, Lezioni di Elemosina, a tableau vivant by Claudia Castellucci, performed by Silvia Ciancimino

A magnetic and contemplative performance reflecting on the act of reaching out when all one has to offer is oneself.
As they step into the space and slowly circle the performer, the audience becomes part of the scene.
A subtle relationship unfolds between the one who looks and the one who is looked at and through this silent yet charged encounter, the themes of the work surface within each spectator, lingering in the aftertaste of the performance, carried beyond the church and out of Murillo’s suspended dimension.

Una performance magnetica e contemplativa, che riflette sull’atto di tendere la mano quando tutto ciò che si possiede è sé stessi.
Entrando nello spazio e camminando lentamente intorno alla performer, il pubblico diventa parte della scena.
Si crea un rapporto sottile tra chi guarda e chi è guardato ed è attraverso questo incontro silenzioso ma carico di tensione che i temi dell’opera emergono in ogni spettatore, rimanendo nell’eco della performance e oltre la chiesa, fuori dalla dimensione sospesa di Murillo.
