In regard to the differences between the new and original models:
The new 80-10.5 is a "universal" version of the original Osiris Philter. Designed to be more compatible with standard guitars, keys, banjo, pedal steel, lap steel, etc...
Both versions of the Osiris Philter are intended as a powerful and musical extension of your tone controls. Expand the range and voice of any instrument and truly CONTROL YOUR TONE!
Building off of the reverse engineered circuitry of the Osiris Philter the new universal model, the 80-10.5 takes the sound into the guitars frequency range of 80hz to 10.5Khz. Additionally a few tweaks were made, the first being the input impedance was changed to 1meg to help keep the high end bright for guitar use as well as a small increase in the filters output section. Also, the phase shift helping to create some of the sounds found with the original Osiris Philter were eliminated to keep all settings in-phase with one another creating a more transparent sound when the Direct and Philter are mixed together which is more desireable when used with a guitar. These changes alone differentiated the sounds available enough that this second Philter was created. As with the original version, the 80-10.5 was designed to be an "Always In, Always On Circuit" device to help shape the sound of your instrument before hitting the speakers, thus why neither version have a footswitch available, they are not effects in the traditional sense, they are sonic landscapers designed to help shape your tone either just before your preamp making your instrument sound like others, or in the effects loop of your amp giving you a tonestack tweaker. It will also work great with a mixing console and on countless sources.

The PHILter is not an effect pedal. It is a powerful extension for your instrument's tone controls. It allows you to truly "CONTROL YOUR TONE!!!"
This new version of the PHILter is not a replacement for the original. It is a compliment to the original.
Changes include bumping up the frequency response range from 40Hz-7K to 80Hz-10.5k, hence the product name "80-10.5", as well as keeping both the Direct out and Philter out completely in phase at all times.
These two changes make for a more "universal" PHILter that works even better with guitars, keys, etc.

We are also using the other star from Osiris aka Mission Control (reverse of the original) as the inlay on the 80-10.5 to distinguish between the two.
