I tried smelt for the first time, and fell in love with things I never knew I needed like sunflower miso, and burnt honey ice cream. This week, Treasure Island Resort & Casino is celebrating its first ever Week of Impact, bringing together 500+ team members to support communities across Minnesota. Through Island Impact, in partnership with the Prairie Island Indian Community, they’re turning the power of tribal gaming into real change from food support to community partnerships 💪 Today at Hastings Family Service, I joined the team sorting food staples, preparing summer lunch bags for kids, and organizing clothing for their thrift store to support local families in meaningful hands on ways. Hastings Family Service provides essential community support through a market food program, emergency assistance, transportation to appointments, school supplies, Meals on Wheels, holiday programs, and a thrift store for clothing and household goods. Finally made it out of my house to check out another restaurant in the Twin Cities that we hadn’t tried! We’re always looking out for new spots to find our favorite Mexican foods. Sadly we did not have room in our tummies to try the elote so we will certainly be back to try it! Also!!
