We’re excited to announce Skin Like Mine – a new HIV prevention programme for London’s Black heritage communities, delivered by One Voice Network and funded by the London HIV Prevention Programme under the Do It London campaign. From January to April 2026, we’ll be bringing HIV prevention directly into communities through pop-up testing events and culturally informed activities – making HIV testing and prevention part of everyday self-care. Black Londoners face unique challenges when it comes to HIV prevention, from stigma and structural barriers to unequal access to services. Over half of new HIV diagnoses in Black heritage people are made late, increasing health risks and onward transmission. This inequity must end. The Skin Like Mine programme is designed to serve Black Londoners by breaking down barriers and ensuring everyone has the tools to protect their health. 📍 Follow us for updates and event details 💡 Learn more about HIV prevention at Thank you to London Association of Directors of Public Health and London Councils for supporting this work. #SkinLikeMine #HIVPrevention #BlackHealthMatters

We chatted with Julian at the Healthy Hearts event in Deptford, curious to hear his thoughts on HIV testing! “It’s nice to have such events in the community” — we understand just how busy people’s lives are, between school and work, to caring responsibilities and commitments, it can be challenging to find the time to go to the GP or clinic, which is why we’re testing to you! Everyone should have access to sexual health testing, treatment, and information, and Skin Like Mine is the programme doing just that! Test with us at one of our pop up events or order a free kit to your address from skin.shl.uk 🙌🏽

"O dara Lati se ayewo loofee bayi." Meet Omoh, he's a volunteer with @redribbonlivingwell and has been living well with HIV for the past 25 years. Omoh shared with Skin Like Mine a bit of his story, and is showing everyone what living with HIV really looks like today. His message to you? Don't delay; testing is free for anyone living in the UK. You can get tested at your GP or online at skin.shl.uk. Sharing this in Yoruba helps make sure more people can access clear, relevant information about #HIV. "Mo rowa ki gbogbo wa, lomode ati agbalagba lo se ayewo ara wa bayi." Too many people in Black communities are still diagnosed late. Not because we don’t care, but because stigma and lack of clear information get in the way. We have to take charge of our health, and testing for HIV is part of that. Testing is quick, confidential, and it puts you in control. Thank you Omoh for sharing with us all and to @doitldn for funding this work!

"There's still so many people that have never heard of HIV PrEP!" Taofique and Christina break it down into a simple conversation: what is HIV PrEP, how you can take it, and where you can get it (note: it's free through the NHS!). Talk to your local clinic, your GP, a pharmacist or local sexual health charity about your options. It's part of your well-being and self-care, so why not be informed?
