Wanna start off the year with a poem and project I’m hella proud of. If you told me I’d be a poet a year ago I’d even say you was tripping but a year later here I am falling in love the the art of words (bare cheesy but mind your business)
In this poem I want to shed some light on the challenges that some men face especially when it comes to mental health and societal expectations. I highlight how men are often judged harshly for their actions or perceived weaknesses, and how this can lead to a cycle of isolation and self-doubt. I also touch on the alarming statistics around suicide and the need for more support and compassion for men in our society.

Joshua Aketse-Entsie is a London-based poet, actor, and co-founder of @houseofvox . His work fuses artistry with activism, using spoken word to inspire, uplift, and advocate for social change.
A Culture Leader with @poeticunity Joshua has hosted, performed, and directed numerous poetry events. His debut collection, UnDiscipline Thoughts offers new insights for psychologists into the lived experiences of Black men. Joshuas has also partnered with @bcaheritage , Quiet Voice, @kings_college_london .
His poetry amplifies marginalised voices, sparks community dialogues and has led conversations with local councils around Black identity and systemic inequity.
