Once–Future Office

Women’s contributions to architecture are often underrepresented. The bright, bold Built by Women campaign celebrates impactful projects led by women visionaries shaping New York City. Inspired by the geometry of the Built by Women hexagonal logo, folds extend throughout the digital and physical elements of the campaign. As surfaces meet, overlap, and reveal new information, the motif reflects the program’s intersectional, inspiring mission. We carefully organized 50+ entries across all 5 boroughs into a map that is legible at street level yet clear at a glance. To top it all off, the map also features a woman-designed typeface, Paragraf, by New York-based type designer TienMin Liao of @typeji !

The Green-House at @historicgreenwood is now open! To get the word out about all that Green-Wood has to offer, we designed their first-ever marketing campaign welcoming visitors to this special place. The new, custom-built website for @princetonarchitecture is infinitely flexible. Inspired by constellations, the design is as active and interconnected as the school itself, enabling the school to update it each day with the latest news and happenings. Cards shift and flex to fit the grid in endless configurations, while its dynamic split screen design enables users to engage with related content side-by-side. Learn more at the link in our bio.

We loved kicking off @archleague ’s first #AfterHours event of the season with our studio-mates @bernheimer_architecture ! Our custom event graphic and coaster giveaways come in two colorways: sunset and midnight. We had a great time meeting members of the league and sharing some of the environmental, identity, print, and web projects we’ve been up to recently. We’re excited to share @techarchdesign received another recognition! The project was awarded 3rd place in the @fritsjurgens Best Pivot Door Contest 🏆 TAD’s entry portal is as unique as its modular, multi-function office space. More than an entryway, the TAD Portal serves as an adaptive interface; it’s an architectural gesture that seamlessly connects people, place, and digital narrative in one continuous movement. Join us to kick off a new season of #AfterHours events at @bernheimer_architecture and @oncefutureoffice ’s office in Industry City! 🗓️ Thu, Feb 19 @ 6 pm 📍 34 35th Street, Brooklyn, NY 🎟️ League members-only 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 is a Brooklyn-based architectural practice focusing on the design of affordable and supportive housing for New York’s most vulnerable population. Founded in 2011 by Andrew Bernheimer, the 19-person practice is committed to “designing sustainable and resilient architecture by crafting productive environments for people and their communities,” in the firm’s own words. In 2022, Bernheimer Architecture Union, the first private sector architects’ union in the U.S. in more than 80 years, was voluntarily recognized by BA management. Brooklyn-based design studio 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲–𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 works across brand identities, campaigns, publications, digital products, and environment activations. An award-winning, M/WBE-certified firm, Once–Future was founded by Dungjai Pungauthaikan and Nikki Chung in 2012. Across branding, environmental graphics, and wayfinding, the studio has collaborated with OMA, Michael Maltzan Architecture, and SCAPE, among others. Endings can be beginnings in disguise…and sometimes, they’re where new worlds take shape. We recently chatted with Dr. Pacharee Sudhinaraset, Associate Professor of English at @nyuniversity , and @robsato , an LA-based visual artist, about collaborating on Pacharee’s new book, Worlds at the End. Like both of Pacharee and Rob’s projects, our information design for the book evokes an interplay between hope and destruction, light and dark. We are thrilled to take home first place in @centerforarch ’s Pumpkitecture competition! The prompt for this year was shared spaces. What’s New York City’s ultimate shared space if not the subway? Our identity for this year’s edition unfolds the work of women transforming our built environment, featuring a vibrant color palette that celebrates the innovation and impact of women-led projects throughout NYC. *Update* Submissions have been extended to 11/6.
