Introducing the new Amy Shark. The half-up top knot is gone, as is her signature indie-punk-pop-diary-girl sound. When she speaks to marie claire, the Year of the Fire Horse has only just begun, and Shark has bolted out of the starting gates. There’s a new album, two new films, and an appearance on the soundtrack of Lena Dunham’s upcoming Netflix romcom film, Good Sex, for which Dunham personally requested Shark. “I’m also turning 40!” she adds to the end of the list she’s been counting on one hand. “We’re galloping, we’re swimming – it’s the Year of the Fire Shark!” Her new album, soft pop, out July 31, is unlike anything she's done before, right down to the microphone she used and the tuning of her guitar. There were no co-writers, just Shark and her producer. “I don't want people to think this is just another Amy Shark record, it's so different," she shares. And then there's her film debut in the MMA fight movie Beast, across from Russell Crowe and Daniel MacPherson. Shark plays a fight coach and undertook intensive training to get ready for the part. "I had to take real hits and get in there and swear and push and look like I'm not terrified," she says, laughing. This is Amy Shark like you've never seen her before. Smashed out S1 & 2 in a long weekend. Funniest Aussie show I've seen in a while. Loads of Australian/NZ talent. @gracieotto directs - its a ripper! If you're offended by profanities, its just too bad for you... because the one-liners are a crack-up. Eddy still my favourite character. ♥️

Matris (Latin). The queen bee. The life‑giver. I see pieces of her in every generation she bore — in my mother, my brother, my aunties and uncle, my cousins, my nieces and nephews, my children, and in myself. I miss her, and the wisdom she carried. The kindness and generosity she passed down on us. I wish life hadn’t taken me so far from her warmest hugs and her quiet, steady love. Her life was never easy, yet she was always beautiful — in spirit, in strength, in the way she was - like this...beautiful. Born into turbulent times, shaped by years of Balkan occupations, she became a young wife and mother on the doorstep of World War II. When the war took full swing, her husband was taken as a POW (later liberated), and she was left to house, cook, and clean for German officers in her own home. She survived famine, loss, the 1963 catastrophic Skopje earthquake, cancer ... — and still she raised four extraordinary children, each carrying a piece of her nature, passing it on to us and now to our children. She lived through more than most could bear, yet she remained gentle, generous and so strong. I just wish I had more time with her.

#IYKYK For a good 15 years of my creative career, I have been custom creating this nail shade for my clients in every combination possible using the two most sought OPI nail colours: Bubble Bath 🛀 and Funny Bunny 🐰. 1 coat of Bubble Bath, topped with 1 coat of Funny Bunny; 2 coats of Funny Bunny topped with 1 coat of Bubble Bath... and so on and so on... endless possibilities. Finally, OPI has married these two iconic shades and created OPI'm Bubble Bunny. They heard the manicurists cries and delivered. EVERYONE HAPPY!!! Cant wait to try...💅

I got gifted this pack from a dear friend a couple of weeks back and thought I would do a quick post: A mother–daughter necessity and passion project turned into lovely skincare. Dara (the daughter) spent years battling extremely dry, reactive skin, so she and her mum created a range gentle enough for everyday use. I have been using it for 2 weeks myself (note, I dont suffer from dry skin) but my opinion is this range is not only good for people with these grievances but also perfect for young teens finding their way with skincare. Formulated to be soothing, non‑clogging, perfume-free and kind to skin prone to eczema, dermatitis, and allergy‑related flare‑ups, it’s all about calm, comfort, and hydration. The restore face cream is great as a makeup primer - beautifully hydrates without feeling oily and won't let your base move too much. If you have young, teenage skin, I would avoid the exfoliator (although, if you have combination skin, you could avoid your oily zones) — as grainy scrubs can push oil production into overdrive — but the range generally is beautifully gentle, hydrating, and teen‑friendly. Well done, Dara & Bela. ❤️ / @darabelaskin
