The idea behind magnetic brushes simply started from needing better tools. For years backstage I’d been buying brushes and reshaping them myself, shaving them into finer points, because nothing on the market was quite right. The magnetic part came the same way. Backstage at fashion week you have almost no bench space with brushes scattered everywhere. It’s just chaos, and I needed them under control. So I figured that a magnet would allow them to stand. It wasn’t a lightbulb moment, it was just solving a problem in the most practical way I could think of. I initially made these for myself, but then models and other artists started picking them up and asking where they could get one, and I remember thinking that perhaps this is something. From a young hairdresser in Brisbane to working globally as a makeup artist, I’m often asked how it all began @theinspiredceoaustralia The truth is, it wasn’t a carefully planned path. I was working backstage, not even as a makeup artist at the time, when I applied lip gloss on Naomi Campbell. A photo was taken, and when I returned to Australia, people simply assumed I was the makeup artist. From there, I was asked to teach, and everything grew organically. My #1 Deluxe Kabuki Brush is the most-used brush in my kit. Its pointed shape makes it ideal for blush, contour, and powder application. One of my favourite techniques is applying product only to the tip of the brush.
