This is my sappy appreciation post — fair warning.Last April, Off the Record started as a project to mess around on Canva, using IG to share local music and happenings that stood out.365 days, 100s of shares and 20+ ticket giveaways later, OTR is producing events around town and collaborating w favs like @catalystclub @moesalley @offshore.sounds @redwood.records.ca @theaperoclub @roadhousedavenport @tideswing.sc @jettyradio.And now, our cozy beach town feels smaller but more connected (in the best way)…If you’ve found something new or checked out a scene you wouldn’t have otherwise, that’s the whole point.Thanks for showing up and being in on it.See you at the Bloom Social on May 9 :) #santacruzevents #santacruzmusic #santacruznightlife #santacruz

Saturday, May 9 from 3–9pm, we’re back at Davenport Roadhouse, taking over the newly redone beer garden for a proper debut.A full day of plants, music, and outdoor hangs:> Plant swap (3-5pm): BYO cutting or propagated plant, leave with something new> Flower bar (3-5pm) build a bouquet for Mother’s Day or just because — kids station too! @tulipaflorals> Seasonal drinks + bites to keep things flowing> Offshore Sounds DJs playing curated vinyl, plus records for sale @offshore.sounds>>new additions Ceramics (3-5pm): Lauren Yien the ceramicist of @sunpetalsstudio will be onsite with unique creations> “Mother” themed wine tasting during the day for the winos curated by @lexmcarr> ‍ Garden goodies and gifts (3-6pm) from potted plants to sunhats @thegardencompBlooms and tunes all day, get down and dirty into the evening.
