The deadline is fast approaching and we are still looking for proposals from artists who have a great idea for workshops during Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival in selected locations across the county of Offaly.
This is a paid opportunity, your proposal should be for a short innovative creative experience that will introduce Children to the Arts. Age ranges up to 12 years (such as 3- 5yrs, 6-8yrs or 9-12yrs). We are also open to a smaller number of workshops for the 0 – 3 age group.
We will consider any art medium.
Workshops for younger children should be from 45 minutes up to a maximum of one hour. Workshops for older children can be one hour, 1.5 hours or up to the maximum of two hours, depending on the art form and proposed workshop.
Closing Date: No later than 5pm on Monday 18th May 2026

Congratulations to Offaly writer Johannes Bulfin, who has been selected as the county’s mentee for the Irish Writers Centre National Mentoring Programme 2026 — one of 41 writers chosen from over 500 applicants nationwide.
Based in Offaly, Johannes is a qualified aquatic biologist and founder of Watershed Fly Fishing, with a deep connection to the natural world that informs his creative practice. With years of experience exploring Ireland’s waterways — and internationally — his work is rooted in place, environment, and observation.
This prestigious programme pairs emerging and established writers with leading literary mentors, providing invaluable professional support across the year. Since 2017, it has supported many writers on their journey to publication.
Offaly Arts Office is proud to support Johannes on this journey. Through a range of collaborations and programmes, we are committed to fostering professional development and creating opportunities for writers and artists at all stages of their careers.

The Arts Council is pleased to offer a limited number of complimentary tickets for artists to attend the FESTIVAL MAKERS Conference 2026, taking place on Thursday 21 May and Friday 22 May 2026 in Sligo.
A limited allocation of FREE tickets will be available to individual artists, particularly those creating work within festival contexts, to support networking and engagement opportunities with festival organisers, programmers, and sector partners.

Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival, is an important annual fixture in the county’s calendar of culture and arts festival events. Now in its 20th year, the Hullabaloo! focus is on programming engaging and stimulating arts events for 3 – 12-year-olds and their families.
The festival runs over four days during the October mid-term break Wednesday 28 October – Saturday 31 October 2025 in Birr, Tullamore, Edenderry and Clara with more locations added soon.
We are now seeking proposals from artists, musicians, filmmakers, drama practitioners, dancers, writers, sculptors, jugglers (and more!) for workshops/performances and ‘mini camps’ during Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival in Birr, Tullamore Clara, Edenderry, Kilcormac and selected across Offaly.

Opportunity for artists: Tullamore Murals 2026 – 2030 Artists Panel
Offaly County Council, in partnership with Tullamore Tidy Towns and supported by Creative Ireland, is establishing an Artist Panel to deliver original, large scale exterior murals that will activate public spaces, celebrate Tullamore’s identity, and create a self guided mural trail across the town centre and key approach routes. Panel members will be invited to propose or be directly commissioned for specific sites between 2026 and 2030.

Offaly Culture Night 2026 Event Fund — Applications Now Open!
Offaly County Council is inviting not‑for‑profit organisations, community groups, cultural and heritage groups, venues, societies, and professional artists to apply for support to deliver free, in‑person events for Culture Night on Friday 18 September 2026.
We’re looking for events that celebrate culture, creativity and the arts, reflecting the Culture Night mission: One Night for All.
Eligible costs include guest artist/speaker fees, materials, photography, and technical support.
