NO U-TURN East Bay - Free Party  RSVP @ [email protected] Last weekend we confronted 'THE SQUARES' at their ROADBLOCK leading to the secret DEVICE 23 lab run by the SPAGHETTI CODERS and many ravers successfully disguised themselves and entered the restricted area.  Despite our best efforts, THE SQAURES infiltrated our ranks and appeared on the edges of the spiral being formed by DEVICE 23.   In order to protect DEVICE 23 and their identities, THOUGHT SOCIETY ordered an immediate evacuation of the area.  Thankfully all ravers reacted quickly, and the escape was clean.  However, the plan to open the spiral vortex was repressed by the authoritarian power of THE SQUARES and their demands that music and dance happen under the careful watch of corporate power with heavy monetary fees paid in advance, during, and after gatherings.  This is not the end, NO U-TURN allowed! We must continue the quest of collective liberation through music and dance within Temporary Autonomous Zones.  The SPAGHETTI CODERS notified us the lab is almost ready for the ravers to be let in, but in order to do so, the spiral vortex must be opened again, and more energy poured in to ensure DEVICE 23 can withstand THE SQUARES signal blocking technology. *ROADBLOCK SPOTLIGHT* ~Mars Kasei + Obstac~ @marskasei + @obstacks Chances are that if you've spent any reasonable amount of time in the bay area underground, you've either shaken your ass to a set by, or partied in a space empowered and cultivated by Mars Kasei and Obstac. It would be hard to overstate the impacts of their contributions to the scene both as artists and visionary leaders whether its their coveted extended sunrise sets, hosting dj workshops / pop up renegades / chill rooms / full on sound system warehouse extravaganzas or straight up community activism and organizing. Any time you see these two up to something you can guarantee its done with heart, integrity, intention, badass style and you better fuckin get there. Over the years we've had the pleasure to host them a few times individually and as a duo, and last year they obliterated the forest with a pre-dawn into sunrise set Sunday morning of The Autonomous Mutant Festival and then hopped over to SPAZ to play hours on end carrying the mutant vibe well into the day, a repeat of their epic sunday sunrise jam the year before, cementing it as a bonafide tradition. It's in these moments legendary figures rise up taking the rave to another dimension and in our minds, Mars Kasei and Obstac couldn't be better qualified to carry the torch. Both within and beyond their presence as artists and organizers, Mars and Obstac consistently show up for community in need whether it's taking a stand on global issues against g3n0c!de and f@sc !5m, or helping raise funds for marginalized community members in need of $ for rent, surgery, recovery, etc when there's no one else to turn to for help. As shining examples of putting mutual aid into action, we couldn't be more proud to platform their artistry and voices behind the decks on our rig. Come kick up some dust as they lead us into the peak hours of ROAD BLOCK. MUSIC AND DANCE ARE LANGUAGES OF FREEDOM.
