For nearly a decade Fractal Drip has been a part of the Thought Society community as a dancer, participant, dj, and they've been there for many of the most intimate as well as epic moments we've had over that period. We've witnessed their perpetual evolution as an artist and organizer and always felt that particular kind of kinship that's unspoken and known simply through presence and a moments glance.
Most recently they rocked the full rig at EMB2025 with mind bending broken beats and followed that up with easily one of the best sets we've heard anywhere at any party in the past couple of years with an insane psychedelic dnb set Thursday night of The Autonomous Mutant festival on 3RDKLTR sound system. The intimate dancefloor of 50 or so forest freaks conjured up a dancefloor dust storm of legends, writhing on the ground and leaping around as sound system wizardry from Fractal Drip took hold. We can say with confidence they are one of our favorite DJs on the west coast, with a creative vision and keen ear for cutting edge styles and how to make a rig purrrr.
Through organizing events under the Sonic Provisions banner and running sound with modesty from the background, Fractal Drip has played a major role in platforming young and upcoming artists from an incredibly diverse set of backgrounds who otherwise wouldn't have had an outlet. They're not one to grab the spotlight for themselves and instead shine the light on others so its our pleasure to bring them back onto the rig once again and showcase what they're all about.
Don't fuck this one up, get body in front of the stack, and lose yourself to the sounds of Fractal Drip.

while they were in an artist residency developing this piece, we were able to collaborate long distance and i composed 15min of music using samples they sent me from their environment, as well as samples from objects they acquired from their ancestors. it’s been a lot of fun, and i hope to collaborate with them and with more dancers in the future ✨🖤✨
Our crew Hoezone Layer and some of our friends are hosting a chill/ambient zone/installation this Saturday! This will be a multi-room and sound system event with plenty of vibes to choose from. We’ve all been working hard to make this happen and we’d love to see you there :)
EMB2025 - @fractaldrip
Fractal Drip is a long time friend and Thought Society supporter who has carried the weight of large segments of the bay area underground through various collectives, most recently @sonicprovisions , with whom as a core member they've created some of the more raw, core rave energy, renegades, undergrounds throughout the bay as well as travelling to Berlin and beyond to perform. We met Fractal Drip at EMB in 2016/17 and became fast friends with them attending most of our events thereafter as well as playing EMB in 2019 as Hi-Rez Martyrs, and again in 2021 as Fractal Drip. Moving in stealth and always keen to shine the light on others before themselves, Fractal Drip epitomizes the underground spirit of cooperation, radical accessibility, and compelling art and action. Whether it's their own events or someone else's, the motivation to be of service, making sure everyone's safe and cared for and the proper gear is in place to make the partt rock are all paramount to them.
As both a producer and DJ Fractal Drip brings fresh perspectives on techno, breaks, and dnb blending left field fringes and psychedelic hypnosis into every production and mix. We feel a special kinship musically with Fractal Drip as their approach to aesthetics is very similar to our own. A truly compelling artist that we are sure never to miss a set from. With gratitude we're welcoming Fractal Drip to join us once again for EMB.
