A State Advocacy Day to Remember. Last Thursday, adult literacy advocates, educators, and partners from across New York came together in Albany to speak up for adult learners and the programs that support them. Together with our statewide partners at NYACCE, we met with legislators and their staff to share the impact of adult education and the urgent need for stronger investment. Thank you to the offices of: @shelleybmayer @benedetto4ny @mmitaynes @amdanalevenberg catalinacruzny @amgracelee @jessicaramos @valdezassembly @assemblywomandavila @sengianaris @joannesimonforbrooklyn @senatorrjackson @nysensepulveda @sengonzalezny @nysenatorrivera @senatorserrano @votejgr @senatorjuliasalazar shimsky4assembly @steveotis91 @johnliuny @rk4ny @edbraunstein @nilyrozic @sen_gounardes @senatorlizkrueger @patfahy46 @assemblymanandrewhevesi @amanda_bx84 We’re calling on New York State to: 📚 Invest $15M in Adult Literacy Education 🛡️ Pass the New York for All Act @govkathyhochul @cheastie @andreastewartcousins Why this matters: • Adult literacy improves employment, wages, health outcomes, and civic participation. • If all adults reached a 6th-grade reading level, U.S. income would grow by $2.2 trillion annually. Adult learners are working every day to build stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger New York. Our policies should match their ambition. #LiteracyLiftsNY
