We are so excited to be producing Marios Ento-Engkolo’s Dualism at @glasgowbuzzcut 2026, through the Emerging Artist Award programme and supported by Creative Scotland! Dualism takes its name from the idea that many conditions are defined by two polarities and opposing forces, and translates Marios’s experience of navigating identity as a mixed-race, queer person in polarised Greece into dance. Exploring life ‘in-between’ and the negotiation of opposing forces, Dualism reclaims and articulates these complex experiences. Marios draws on African diasporic dance styles alongside contemporary and experimental movement, bringing contrasting forms into conversation. Set to a soundscape blending contemporary production (GLA Studios) with traditional Greek folk music (Stefanos Tzotzolakis and Evie Rogkoti), the work gains emotional depth and a distinct cultural grounding. The one off performance takes place Saturday 18 April, 3pm at Tramway: and we’re sorry not sorry to say the tickets were snapped so quickly that the show is currently sold out! In the lead in to World Aids Day, Atelier evening opens with a special House Ball Scotland x Waverley Care partnership event highlighting our communities’ histories of HIV activism, what it means to live with HIV today and what the future could hold. This panel event features the screening of two short films produced by Waverley Care including See Me, See You, See Us and a new community leadership film resource. Our speakers are: ✨ Agnes Kuzoraunye - Community & HIV Advocate Agnes is a mother, grandmother, HIV peer mentor, and activist. She has been involved in the HIV and community engagement sector for more than two decades. Her passion revolves around raising awareness of the effects of stigma on individuals living with HIV and the impact it can have on a community at large. HIV is no longer a death sentence, but a chronic long-term illness managed with medication- that is Agnes’s key message and motivation behind everything she does! ✨ Stella Kyalikunda (she/her)- LGBT Health & Wellbeing. Stella is the Development Worker at LGBT Health and Wellbeing on the Asylum Seekers and Refugee Project, also a Trustee at Ubuntu Women’s Shelter (An organisation that support women/ Trans and non-binary inclusive community members with no recourse to public funds) @lgbt_healthy ✨ Ese Johnson - Waverley Care Ese works as the Manager for Minority Ethnic Health at Waverley Care supporting people from Minority Ethnic Communities with awareness and uptake of HIV related services. Diagnosed with HIV in 2019, Ese also shares his experience as a Person Living with HIV and advocates for better understanding around HIV and challenging stigma.
