Thanks to @official_apta and the Performing Arts Special Interest Group for having us at the Combined Sections Meeting in Anaheim! It was such a pleasure and privilege to present the new guidelines for concussion management in dance and circus arts with @drsheyipt and @drjeffrussell ! We appreciate everyone that got up early on a Saturday to join us! The recording will be available starting March 1st for conference registrants. It was also amazing to reconnect with my professors, mentors, colleagues and former students all in one place! And so lucky to finish the trip off with a little Valentines Day celebration courtesy of @cirquedusouffle and a couple days with my family and some friends at @disneyland ! The celebration of the Lunar New Year and the diversity of our community at @californiaadventurepark was especially meaningful! #performingartsmedicine #performingartsphysicaltherapy #concussion #concussionrehab

✨ It’s Giving Tuesday! ✨ Help Keep Arts & Dance Alive The world feels a little wobbly right now—and that’s exactly why we created Are You Okay? Joe, Melecio, and our whole team poured their hearts into a show full of truth, joy, and connection. Now we’re dreaming forward: GUSH Festival in April and our next immersive show in 2027. Big visions. Big art. And we can’t make it happen without you. Giving Tuesday is TODAY. If you want more art, more beauty, more joy in this world, please consider supporting Joe Goode Performance Group. Because without culture… all we’d have are culture wars. 💛✨ Donate via link in bio. Photo by @robbiesweeny Image Description: Two performers are on a small stage as colorful confetti rains down around them. On the left, a person with light skin and a ponytail sits on a stool, wearing a black athletic outfit with yellow accents. They’re reaching upward with an open, joyful expression as confetti falls. On the right, another performer with light skin and bright blue hair stands, wearing a flowing, sparkly blue ball gown. Their skirt is twirling outward as they move, and they’re smiling toward the seated performer. Warm stage lights glow behind them, adding to the celebratory, magical atmosphere. #GivingTuesday #JoeGoodePerformanceGroup #SupportTheArts #BayAreaArts #DanceTheater #GiveBack #KeepArtAlive #NonprofitArts #ArtMatters #SupportLocalArtists #MovementArts

The future of education in pageantry is here — and it’s evidence-based! Huge thank you to all of our attendees and our hosts at @ultimatedrillbook until next time! #marchingband #forinstructorsbyinstructors #dci #boa

o hey there it’s deuce from this dusty ol corner over here. I wanted to do a 💩 deuce photo dump 💩 of big / little moments from the least year+ that have been extra special and dear to my heart. I’m about to shuffle up this account to highlight my next big project - and/but/so - it felt important to first extend a deep appreciation for the role drag has played in my creativity and growth. the people I’ve gotten to be near to and learn from 🥹 the amazing family I’ve found, my sense of belonging deepening 🌱🌿 learning and growing through fears. Drag has absolutely changed me and is a part of everything I do. I believe in drag not only as a cunty lipsync gag reveal choreo moment (which, yes) but also as a vehicle for liberation that allows a performer to channel words from other dimensions, places, futures. Drag as a vessel for the messages and medicine we need. As place to practice responsiveness, political alignment, care, and world-building. I’m always learning 🩶 so thank you to everyone who has inspired me along the way. 💩💩💩 🥹🥹🥹 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

MUSIC, MAGIC, & MORTALITY a You’re Going to Die Fundraiser, Auction & Party featuring music from Maya Elise & The Good Dream, magic from Danny Nguyen, & a DJ Dance Celebration to end the night! @thelostchurchsf Saturday, March 16th DOORS at 7:30pm/SHOW at 8pm Join us for a special 501(c)3 fundraiser event, with a night of magic, music, & mortality, including a silent & live auction, & a DJ dance party to top off the night! ******************************** Maya Elise leads an endearing indie-folk band whose music is a warm expression of harmonic solace with stories that speak to the vulnerable curiosity of our lives. The music itself brings a certain nostalgia with classic folk harmonies, but stays current with inventive song structures & relatable yet personal storytelling. The sweeping honesty inherent in this group’s music can move a crowd to both silence and jubilation. The band’s self-released album Everything We Watered is the pinnacle of Maya Elise & The Good Dream’s welcoming and genuine indie-folk music to date. Danny Nguyen became interested in movement while performing color guard in Drum Corps International and Winter Guard International. Shortly after graduating from UC Berkeley in Dance and Performance Studies, Danny toured with the Broadway musical Blast!, performing in the United States, South Korea, and Japan. He has been dancing professionally for over 15 years having performed with Fog Beast, Joe Goode, Kim Epifano, Scott Wells, Katie Faulkner, and BANDALOOP. Danny’s dancing career has led to a passion for helping others understand and navigate movement and the body; he is currently a physical therapist for SFUSD supporting children in their movement journeys.
