This evergreen song is a sweet part of In Our Own Ways. I had a lot of fun writing Mama Dengi’s character. Strong women always remind me of my mama. I miss her everyday. Thanks to everyone who ordered a copy of In Our Own Ways during @narrativelscape ’s Black Friday sale. Here is to a safe, calm week. #InOurOwnWays #bookstagram #domesticthriller #dearmama #weekendreading #sweetmother #nicombarga #evergreen

There are people whose words carry both weight and warmth, not because they are loud, but because their experience and integrity speak for them. For me, Niran Adedokun is one of such voices. I have known Niran for almost a decade now, both professionally and personally, and I can say without hesitation that his influence on 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 began long before the first draft was completed. From guiding conversations about the book’s title to offering publishing advice and quietly doing those countless good deeds he prefers I don’t list here (smile), Niran has been an incredible support. For those who may not know him well, Niran is a 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘆𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 with over 25 years of experience across agency, corporate, and development sectors. Beyond his legal and communications work, he is one of Nigeria’s most respected columnists; his weekly insights in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩, 𝘚𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘴, and 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘊𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 continue to challenge minds and shape national conversations. As an author, his works, from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘧𝘰 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘜𝘴 to 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘴 and his other titles, show a deep understanding of the human condition, culture, and society. And if you have ever read his reflections on leadership, media, or the arts, you would know he doesn’t just write; he provokes thought with grace and truth. So, when someone like Niran says, “This book is an industry game-changer.” …I take that to heart. Because coming from a mind like his, this isn’t flattery; it is validation born of discernment and deep understanding. Niran, thank you for your trust, your guidance, and your friendship. Your review means a lot, not just to me, but to every PR and communications professional seeking clarity and effectiveness in their craft. 📘 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲: 🇳🇬 Paperback (Nigeria): https://lnkd.in/eb-ZMzgP E-book (Global): https://lnkd.in/eJ7PW3Vr Amazon: https://bit.ly/43UphBJ #TSOPR #PublicRelations #PRMeasurement #MediaIntelligence

Throwback: Months ago, I had the pleasure of moderating this book reading/signing session at Rovingheights bookstore, Abuja. ⁣ ⁣ It was nearly two hours of insightful exchange with Mr. Niran Adedokun, author of the book, ‘Ethnicity Eats Corruption Feasts.’⁣ ⁣ We discussed religion, politics, ethnicity, corruption and book publishing secrets for intending authors. ⁣ ⁣ Having read the book, I can call it a solid guide to understanding the complexity of the Nigerian society and how to best position yourself in that complexity. ⁣ ⁣ You can purchase/order your copy at Roving Heights Bookstore, Abuja or Lagos. ⁣ ⁣ #bookreading #ethnicity #corruption #nigeria

Hi guyss ☺️, Review o'clock ☺️. This book I purchased from @booksellers_ng , before I left for school. It is short story collection featuring 9 stories. The first story was really heartbreaking. I felt Ladi's pain, that kind of betrayal from his wife and friend was 💔 . The second ilicited anger from me. What Ochuko could have avoided he let it consume him. To me, it seemed like a plan to get him at his weakest. The third story was emotional. I felt Benita's pain, the pain of loosing a friend is unlike no other. The fourth story truly told the tale of the law being an ass. Muktar was robbed of what could have reduced his loss. The fifth spoke on police corruption and bribery. The willingness to let go of a life for money, emphasized that money is the root of all evil. The sixth spoke on how far some people are willing to go just to gain their pleasure. I am rejoiced that he didn't give in to his temptation. The seventh emphasized when placed in a position of power, do well not to fall into the same positions as those before you, may have done. The eighth spoke on how reflection on the past, yields little to nothing. And the Ninth was extremely sad. Linda's life was just wasted. All in all, the stories were quite good. They were well written and thought provoking. Overall rating: 7/10 ☺️ #bookrecommendations #book #booklover #thelawisanass #niranadedokun
