Thrilled to share “CHERRY BOMB!” is open at the Appalachian Center for Craft. All of the work included is exemplary of contemporary and traditional craft methodologies working in harmony.
I am so excited for these artists’ work to be together in one space. These folks are incredible artists/professionals/people that I deeply admire, and it’s been such a treat to witness their practice.
Today marks 10 years since I moved to the United States.
Thank you to all who believed in me, picked me up when I was down, extended a helping hand, offered a place to stay, gave me a place to work, provided a meal, pushed me out of my comfort zone, called me out when I needed it, got down on the dance floor with me; the list could go on forever.
This has been an incredible journey and it’s only getting started.
Cheers to all the wonderful people I have met along the way.
I love you all.
Excited to be teaching at @arrowmont_school next week teaming up with @ahorasarah to teach a wood + concrete workshop! Get ready for a week of creativity and endless possibilities.

“In bringing nostalgic feelings of the experiences of my grandparents migrating to Canada, I discovered a Solari Board. The board provides an intuitive understanding of the illusion and disillusion of arrival and departure destinations. The sound represents the anticipation of travel, the same anticipation I felt when I was getting closer to achieving my American dream of migrating to the United States...” — Mark Tan

HERE IT IS! The document I’ve been waiting for; form I-797. This grants me approval for the highly sought-after H-1B visa. This work visa is capped at 65,000 annually through a lottery for specialty workers.
Fortunately, I’m exempt from that annual cap. I fall under the higher education exemption category because... I am joining the faculty @asuschoolofart this fall as Assistant Professor of Sculpture/Wood!
I’m beyond thrilled to be working in a new community, landscape, and environment where we can share stories through objects and intimate dialog.
