Happy Persian New Year, first day of spring! May this year bring joy, warmth and peace to your homes and to the world 🤍
Do you celebrate Nowruz?
Jumping over a bonfire on my fav Persian festival “Chaharshanbeh Suri” which happens to fall on my birthday this year! This is 45! 🔥
“Chaharshanbeh Suri” is a festival celebrated by Persian for her 3500 years! It is celebrated on the last Tuesday night of the Persian calendar (first day of spring). You jump over the bonfires to burn away sickness and misfortune (“zardi-ye man az to”) and gain the fire’s warmth and energy (“sorkhi-ye to az man”), representing a renewal of life.
