🎬 Throwback to The Jade Pendant Red Carpet Premiere 🎬
In 2017, we had the honor of working on the press and red carpet event for The Jade Pendant, a film that sheds light on one of the darkest chapters in Chinese American history—the 1871 Chinese Massacre in Los Angeles.
This powerful story, starring the late Godfrey Gao, Clara Lee, Russell Wong, Tsai Chin, Tzi Ma, and more, brings to life a moment in history that too many have forgotten.
Beyond just a premiere, this was a moment of remembrance, resilience, and recognition of the struggles and triumphs of the Chinese American community.
Ooh là là… TRÜEBADOUR heads to Cannes! 🎬
Excited to be starting conversations at one of the world’s most iconic film markets alongside Avatar Entertainment.
🌟Stay tuned for a festival world premiere announcement! We can’t wait for everyone to see Ryan Bergara and Kevin Kreider electrify the big screen in our techno-thriller.
A childhood moment turned into a film.
When director Anthony Ma was a kid, a pastor told him the jade necklace his mother gave him was evil. The comment stayed with him for years and eventually became the spark for God & Buddha Are Friends, a story about faith, family and the cultural gaps many Asian American kids grow up navigating.
The short stars Karin Anna Cheung, Janet Hsieh and Jim Meskimen, and has screened at festivals including CAAMFest and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
Watch the premiere on Omeleto March 12. Follow @godandbuddhaarefriends to stay up to date.
