The Gable Villa | 2020-2025 . The project arises from the hybridity between a sloping structure and a right-cornered structure and stands at the border of these two typologies. If in the “Villa for the Older Brother”, this duality is in the morphology of these two types, this time it is in the movement of the inside and outside and the dragging of the ramp type to the structure of the project, the tension resulting from this duality causes the creation of unforeseen spaces with different spatial values in the project and organizes all the internal events of the building. . ویلای شیروانی | ۱۳۹۹-۱۴۰۴ . پروژه از دورگه‌بودنى بين سازه‌اى شیب‌دار و ساختار راست‌گوشه به‌وجود می‌آید و در مرز اين دو تايپولوژى مى‌ايستد. اگر در "ویلای برادر بزرگ‌تر" اين دوگانگى در مورفولوژى اين دو تايپ بود، اين‌بار در جابه‌جايي درون و بيرون و كشيده شدن تايپ سطح شيبدار به سازه‌ی پروژه صورت مى گيرد، تنش حاصل از اين دوگانگى، باعث ايجاد فضاهايى پیش‌بینی نشده، با ارزش‌هاى فضايى متفاوت در پروژه شده و كل اتفاقات درونى ساختمان را سامان‌دهى مى‌كند. . The Gable Villa | 2020 The project emerges from a hybridization between an inclined structure and an orthogonal framework. The project’s structural system also shapes the economy of space, meaning that the public area is positioned on the lower floor, requiring greater height. To prevent the upper floor from being lost within this limited scale, a smaller portion of it is allocated to the central void. Through the displacement between interior and exterior, the extension of the sloped surface typology into the project’s structure, and the tension resulting from this duality, unforeseen spaces are generated. With their distinct spatial qualities, these spaces ultimately organize and define all the internal events and experiences of the building. . ویلای شیروانی | 1399 پروژه از دورگه‌بودنى بين سازه‌اى شیب‌دار و ساختار راست‌گوشه به‌وجود می‌آید. سازه‌ی پروژه به نحوی اقتصاد فضا را نیز شکل می‌دهد، به این معنی که در طبقه‌ی پایین فضای عمومی جانمایی شده و احتیاج به ارتفاع بیش‌تر داشته و برای این‌که در این مقیاس محدود طبقه‌ی بالا از دست نرود، این طبقه قسمت کوچک‌تری از خودش را به وُید میانی اختصاص می‌دهد. از جابه‌جايي درون و بيرون و كشيده شدن تايپ سطح شيبدار به سازه‌ی پروژه و تنش حاصل از اين دوگانگى، فضاهايى پیش‌بینی نشده ایجاد می‌شود که با ارزش‌هاى فضايى متفاوت در پروژه، كل اتفاقات درونى ساختمان را سامان‌دهى مى كند. . دیواری که شعر "آیدا در آینه" روی آن نوشته شده بود مثل یک بذر در پروژه رشد کرد، از حجم بیرون زد و مانند یک پرومناد به پروژه شکل داد و تبدیل به افزونه‌ای شد که به ساختمان موجود اضافه کردیم. به این واسطه تنشی به نظم موجود ساختمان دادیم که از دل بنا عبور می‌کند، از حیاط تا بام امتداد می‌یابد؛ و با سوار شدن بر ساختار ژنریک ساختمان، تنش مداوم میان کهنه و نو را به تصویر می‌کشد، و روح سرکش شاعر و جایگاهش در تاریخ فرهنگی ایران را تداعی می‌کند. . خانه‌ی شاعر | طراحی: ۱۳۹۹ | اجرا: ۱۴۰۴ . The wall on which “Aida in the Mirror” was written grew within the project like a seed: it pushed out of the volume, shaped the project as a promenade, and became an extension that we added to the existing building. Through this intervention, we introduced a tension into the building’s established order—a tension that runs through the structure, extending from the courtyard to the roof. By grafting itself onto the building’s generic framework, it embodies a continuous dialogue between old and new, evoking the rebellious spirit of the poet and his place in Iran’s cultural history. . . The conception of using stone in the contemporary condition of Iranian architecture has become intertwined with a classical understanding of architecture (in its common Iranian sense). Such interpretations are usually based on notions of “monolithicity” and “shine,” reflecting and representing the splendor of palaces, an approach that does not align well with a more contemporary architectural outlook. Avandad had previously attempted to distance stone from its glossy appearance to add a more contemporary dimension to it. However, these experiments were largely limited to designs produced exclusively by the originating companies, which reduced the potential for broader sales or export. In order to enable the production of more relevant and original motifs as well as the possibility of exporting these stones, a collaboration was proposed with the NextOffice to design these textures. We encountered three main issues. First was the “nature of the stone itself,” with varying degrees of hardness, softness, and responsiveness. Second were the “potentials of the machines”. Finally, there were the “ideas or designs” that could open new paths for working with stone. Our focus was on orchestrating a dialogue among these three elements, while also re-invoking the “sense of touch”—a sense that is often concealed beneath layers of polished finishes in today’s encounters with stone. Over two years, drawing on prior knowledge as well as new experiences and ideas, we sought to arrive at a tangible and shared quality. SG Residential Building | 2019 . The project can be situated within the collage-like dualities explored in The NextOffice. The public components of the building—starting from the lobby and extending through the semi-open communal and sports areas at the heart of the structure—possess the capacity to move like a living organism within the modular mass of the residential units. In this fluid motion, they transform the vertical and horizontal continuity of the spaces into a meaningful experience, allowing each functional layer to enter into dialogue with the next and generate a new quality. Ultimately, as this sequence reaches the project’s rooftop, it reveals a different aspect of this evolving character, enabling such a living body to create diversity and a distinct identity both for the complex itself and for the urban spaces surrounding it. . پروژه را می‌توان در دوگانه‌های کلاژی دفتر "دیگر" دسته‌بندی کرد: این‌که قسمت‌های عمومی ساختمان -که از لابی آغاز شده و در میانه‌ی بنا به فضاهای نیمه‌باز جمعی و ورزشی می‌رسد- توان آن را دارد که هم‌چون موجودی زنده در دل حجم مدولار واحدهای مسکونی به حرکت درآید. در این حرکت سیال، پیوستگی عمودی و افقی فضاها به تجربه‌ای معنادار بدل می‌شود: هر لایه‌ی عملکردی می‌تواند با لایه‌ی بعدی وارد گفت‌وگو شده و کیفیتی تازه بسازد تا در نهایت و ختم این مسیر به بام پروژه، منظری متفاوت از این شخصیت را آشکار سازد؛ و نیز چنین پیکره‌ی زنده‌ای بتواند تنوع و شخصیتی برای خود مجموعه و فضاهای پیرامونش در شهر ایجاد کند. . . This figure-eight structure also generates a kind of spatial economy; the living area on the lower level requires greater height, but to ensure that the upper floor is not lost within the limited scale, a smaller portion of this floor is allocated to the void created by the sloped structure. Ultimately, the juxtaposition of these different moments produces spaces that, in relation to the main void, generate diverse and varied spatial experiences. . . تماشاخانه‌ی اصفهان | ۱۳۹۸ . Isfahan Theater Hall | 2019 . The project site sat behind a continuous frontage of shops along Isfahan’s Chaharbagh, leaving it with no presence in the public realm; we had to design a theatre without a face. We searched for an answer in spatial “grains” inspired by the timcheh typologies—those inward-looking spaces defined by event-ready voids. To harness this capacity, we placed part of the program below grade, reducing the ground-level footprint and creating an active semi-open space that could link the surrounding covered alleys to the main pedestrian boulevard. In this way, the theatre could gradually reveal itself to passersby, with the roof—much like in traditional timchehs—acting as the principal director of space-making, while the halls were arranged above or below it depending on capacity and programmatic needs. Our challenge lay in shaping a distinct identity for a project with an inherently performative nature—a theatre that “wants to be seen”—in a context as historic as Isfahan, and on its most emblematic street, where resonance with the traditional fabric is essential. Ultimately, by drawing on qualities embedded in the surrounding historic spaces, we sought to craft a faceless yet welcoming theatre—one that opens its arms to the city and offers a spectrum of spatial experiences to pedestrians and audiences alike. .
