Coming up at SHARE Cyprus 2026: the SHARE Architects Society Dialogues — a special session bringing together key institutional and professional voices for an open conversation on the future of architecture and the built environment in Cyprus. We are honoured to welcome as special guests: Alexis Vafeades — Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Cyprus Charalambos Prountzos — Mayor of Nicosia, Cyprus Constantinos Constanti — President of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK), Cyprus Alkis Dikaios — President of the Cyprus Architects Association, Cyprus Together, they will share perspectives on urban development, professional responsibility, collaboration, and the role of architecture in shaping more resilient and meaningful cities. The session will be moderated by Christos Christodoulou — Partner, Simpraxis, and SHARE Society Ambassador, Cyprus.

This May, SHARE focuses on Mediterranean architecture — where sustainability, heritage and coastal urbanism meet in sites characterized by history, climate and identity. On 22 May, we will be meeting in Malta for a professional dialogue dedicated to the challenges and opportunities of contemporary Mediterranean cities. Drawing upon Sustainability, Heritage and Coastal Urbanism, this edition creates an opportunity for architects, urban planners, and leaders of the built environment to share thoughts and perspectives on key topics. SHARE Cyprus 2026 is pleased to announce Manuel Aires Mateus, Founder of Aires Mateus, Portugal, as a Keynote Speaker. 📍 Nicosia Municipal Theatre 📅 15 May 2026 🎟️ Get your ticket: Born in Lisbon in 1963, Manuel Aires Mateus graduated from the Faculdade de Arquitetura de Lisboa in 1986. In 1988, he founded Aires Mateus together with his brother, Francisco Aires Mateus. His work brings together architectural practice, research and teaching, with academic collaborations at institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Design, Oslo Architecture School, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ljubljana, Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa and the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Aires Mateus has participated in major international events, including the Venice Architecture Biennale, Milan Design Week, Chicago Architecture Biennial and the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, where the studio presented the project TO INHABIT. The studio has received numerous national and international distinctions, including the AIT Award, Valmor Prize, Secil Prize, FAD Awards, ENOR Prize, awards from the Ibero-American Urban Planning and Architecture Biennale, and selections for the Mies van der Rohe Prize. In 2017, Manuel Aires Mateus was awarded the Pessoa Prize. At SHARE Cyprus 2026, Manuel Aires Mateus will present recent projects and take the audience on a journey through different ways of designing and imagining houses around the world — reflecting on architecture as a dialogue between memory, knowledge, materiality and time. BLUE PRINTS OF INNOVATION 2026 | Exhibition by J+A Philippou As part of SHARE Cyprus 2026, we invite you to discover Blue Prints of Innovation, an exhibition dedicated to the journey of @japhilippou architects.engineers, one of the architectural practices that has contributed significantly to the evolution of Cyprus’ built environment. This exhibition offers an outlook on the past, present and future of J+A Philippou, highlighting the projects, ideas and people shaping its legacy. Founded in Nicosia in 1960, the practice has evolved alongside Cyprus, contributing to the country’s changing urban environment. Through key projects, the exhibition reflects a consistent approach across different scales and typologies over time. It tells the story of a practice defined by ambition, creativity and long-term commitment to Cyprus and architecture.
