Our newest project, Jennie Lane, is a subsidized farm worker cohousing community on Martha’s Vineyard. In close collaboration with
@maryannthompsonarchitects we set out to create spaces that feel grounded, beautiful, and enduring— places that support daily life for the farm workers who inhabit them.
Our design approach began with the land itself. Working with the landscape plan envisioned by
@mvva.inc each of the concepts for the five connected homes and the shared communal space draws inspiration from the colors of nearby native blossoms in spring. The result is a palette that feels both vibrant and deeply rooted in place.
We’re starting here with the heart of the community: the communal kitchen, dining, and living spaces. Designed to comfortably host up to 24 people, the kitchen is generous and hardworking, featuring two ranges, two dishwashers, multiple refrigerators, and ample space to cook, gather, linger over coffee, or share a quiet meal.
