Jennie Lane ✨Over a year ago, my assistant Aarion and I traveled by plane, bus, and ferry to Martha’s Vineyard to document a project for the artisans of Mother Studio. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I knew I was witnessing some of the most special spaces I’ve had the honor to document.

Designed to become subsidized co-housing for local farmers who work the land and provide food for so many in the area — these connected homes are organized around a communal living, dining, and resting space that can host up to 24 people. Meeting the farmers and their families who will live in this community was unforgettable — the spaces created by this talented group of designers, architects, landscapers, and builders have already changed lives; these spaces will support the farmers’ vital work and their families for years to come.

It was a privilege to play a small part in this project, and deeply moving to see what design can achieve when guided by a deeply compassionate, collective vision. Thank you so much Karie and Laura for entrusting me with this 🤎
