There are lots of ways to make a curb skatable. This is how I do it.
Polish the concrete. I use an angle grinder then rub brick. You could use a rock or piece of cinder block if you don’t have anything else.
Keep it clean so your bondo and clear coat will go on smooth and stick to the concrete.
Mask off the cracks so you get clean lines and the bondo doesn’t look sloppy and draw attention to itself.
Bondo the cracks so they are smooth and the cracks don’t get bigger and rough after a lot of skating.
Clear coat. I like using a roller because it does on fast and thick.
Finally, give it some wax and do the same tricks you do everywhere else on your new curb.
Search from @elementskateboards captured what skateboarding is all about. That’s why Templeton thinks is might be the perfect Element video. Hear more about Search and other skate news on the Mostly Skateboarding Podcast.
We got behind the design with @ryan_lay then @weast__coast about the @slowimpactaz 480 from @nbnumeric . Listen to the full Mostly Skateboarding Podcast for lots more voices from Slow Impact 2026.
Thank you, @ryan_lay and your crew for putting on @slowimpactaz and giving us all an excuse to meet up, hang out, skate, learn, grow, and get really sore.
This was the first time Jason, Mike, Patrick and I were in the same place at the same time after doing the Mostly Skateboarding Podcast together for 6 years.
I saw two red-tail hawks fighting over some prey one day. That was pretty cool.
I got a flat and had to walk two miles to get a new tire.
Ended up going to the ASU Art Museum and seeing some cool work.
Saw a bunch of old friends, made some new friends, met a bunch of listeners, and got to hug some internet friends for the first time.
Slow Impact really is something special. Thanks again, Ryan.
I was there. @tomkarangelov ’s recent Crail Couch reminded me that I was there the day @furrycalamari tossed his board in the fountain. I met the @girlskateboards folks through @jeronwilson when I was filming for DVS. I think I had more clips in their videos than in the DVS video.
