🌟 FRED VARLEY SCHOOL • MARKHAM, ONTARIO 🌟 Grade 7 • Classes• York Region District School Board Truly honoured to have been invited to Fred Varley Public School in Markham Ontario 🇨🇦 to share the Moses Filter journey with such bright, curious, and engaged Grade 7 students. 🙌🏽✨ Our presentation explored the full story — the backstory, challenges, motivation, and real-world impact of our work — and how each of us can make a meaningful difference in our environment and communities. 🌎💧 A huge highlight: Did you know the City of Markham has over 20,000 catch basins? 🤯🌧️ This fun fact helped us connect local action to global responsibility, linking Markham to places like Australia🇦🇺, the USA 🇺🇲, and Sweden🇸🇪 Our curriculum covers communities across Canada, reminding students that environmental stewardship is both local and universal. From hands-on visuals, field photos, prototypes, municipal engineering references, and a short Moses Filter video — the goal was simple: show students that innovation is for everyone. You don’t have to be an engineer to observe, question, and create solutions that matter. Thank you to Ms. Chu, the administrators, and especially the incredible students who made this day so special.
