Join us for a talk with artists Goda Palekaitฤ and Darly Benneker this Saturday! โจ
Moderated by artist Maja Bekan, the conversation brings together the exhibitions Lapsarian 3.0 (Kunsthal Extra City) and Walls, Soft as Listening (MORPHO), and explores how contemporary artistic practices engage with systems of knowledge, institutional histories and site-specific narratives.
Through different artistic strategies, both artists imagine alternative realities and perspectives: from AI-generated estrangement and speculative storytelling to material processes shaped by memory, fiction and ecology.

Vacancy: Artistic Director MORPHO
Grateful for five years of intensive collaboration, MORPHO and artistic director Caroline Dumalin will part ways this summer. With the start of a new policy period, MORPHO is entering a new chapter.
We are looking for an artistic director who will (preferably from 1 July onwards) work together with the general director to develop the new 2028โ2032 policy plan, as well as MORPHOโs artistic, strategic, and operational direction.
The artistic director combines vision with decisiveness and brings together policy, partnerships, and the day-to-day functioning of MORPHO into an inspiring whole.
Would you like to help shape the future of MORPHO and support artists in flourishing? Apply now and bring your vision into dialogue with ours.
Application deadline: 1 June 2026.

Next week we gather in the Monastery Garden for an early evening of readings on belonging, with residents Davide La Montagna and E.N. Mirembe.
Davide La Montagnaโs performative poetry ๐ฟ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐โ๐ก๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ถ๐๐ก๐ฆ is a mermaidโs love letter from the wrong element. A body made of fluids and folklore, gasping on dry land and writing love as an act of vanishing.
E.N. Mirembe will be reading ๐ป๐๐ค ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ถ๐๐ข๐๐ก๐๐ฆ, a meditation on blackqueer fugitivity as a mode of life lived beyond the terms of the nation state. Moving between theory and poetry, the reading takes wild flowers as a point of departure to ask what forms of relation become possible when belonging is no longer organized through ownership, citizenship, or legal recognition.

โง Part of: Antwerp Art Weekend & Borger Nocturne
โง Where: Monastery Garden, entry through Kunsthal Extra City (Provinciestraat 112, Antwerp)

In this session, Juni introduces BEAM robotics as a subversive practice that rethinks technological waste and innovation. BEAM (an umbrella term for simple analogue circuits that can display surprisingly complex behavior) shifts the focus from traditional engineering to playful experimentation, balancing components, and collaborative creation, often using entirely scavenged materials.
By repurposing discarded machine parts as aesthetic and creative material, BEAM challenges techno-capitalist ideas of technology as mere value-extraction and rejects the binaries of functional versus broken or useful versus useless that shape global systems of waste and resource extraction.
โ [Juni] is a philosopher, musician and DIY enthusiast, interested in circuit bending and BEAM robotics. They are fascinated by open technologies and the cultures of subversion that thrive around them. Juni works on intersecting feminist and queer studies with theories of technology and the self.
โ Bring your own lunch and possibly plugs, laptops, smartphones for research & documentation + also a soldering iron and basic tools if you have them, as well as old electronics and materials to build circuits and robot bodies!

The conversation starting at 13:30 in MORPHO brings us together to reflect on how artist-run networks emerge and what they make possible. We begin with a presentation by the @brusselsartistrunnetwork , sharing how BARN operates, the tools they use, the website, the team, and the directions the network is taking.
Drawing from other cities and contexts, they open up a discussion on international artist-run networks and what they could enable.
From there, BARN moves into a broader conversation around the Antwerp scene, including developments around M HKA, and reflects on informal and self-organised structures. How do initiatives position themselves? Is there a desire to continue these exchanges and shape more sustainable collaboration?
We also look at BARNโs open-source website as a shared tool: could this infrastructure be extended to other contexts and future collaborations?
