Join designer Wael Morcos (Morcos Key) for Objects of Journey, a four-day masterclass exploring speculative design inspired by the Biennale’s themes of movement, migration, and shifting landscapes.
Drawing from artworks across the exhibition halls, participants will develop their own imagined product — shaping its concept, name, and visual identity, including an Arabic-first logo.
By the end of the masterclass, each participant will create a fully digital, narrative-driven product that connects design fundamentals with storytelling and future thinking.

Morcos Key’s Designer-in-Residence APPLICATION OPEN!
The Morcos Key Designer-in-Residence is a unique confluence of design work and design play aimed at designers seeking to combine experience in a small studio with a furthering of their personal practice. The DiR is both a working position and an opportunity to create new independent work: the DiR will participate directly in client projects and daily studio operations in addition to developing an outside project with the Partners’ guidance.
Morcos Key invites driven, conceptual thinkers who are able to articulate their ideas into clear writing, actionable strategies, and powerful design work. We are looking for curious designers—those who are asking how to expand their design skills to reflect personal interests, those with a track record of formal experimentation, those who are ready to take passion projects into real-world applications. Candidates should have a BFA or MFA in Graphic Design, or be pursuing one currently. Strong typography skills are a must.
This is an hourly paid, part-time position, 2–3 days per week for a duration of three months.
While international submissions are welcomed, this position is not a remote one. Please note that we are unable to sponsor international candidates for a Work Visa at this time. We hope to change this in the near future.
To apply, please send the following materials to [email protected]:
–Resume (1 page)
–Bio (100 words)
–PDF Portfolio: No more than 5 projects, with a description for each detailing the concept behind the project and your role in creating it
–Independent Project Description (250 words): What are you passionate about / researching / thinking about? How would you like to develop your interests into a tangible project? Is it a brand new idea, or are you already working on a project? What are some ways in which Morcos Key can help you in the process
Looking forward to this @nypl !
