“Respiro” is the more intimate counterpart to The Swimmers. If the book observes the constancy and devotion of those who swim, the video turns inward: into the breath that sustains movement, into the fragility within strength. A more intimate portrait of six of the swimmers who are part of the book, between breath and silence, the complicity of the group and individuality, the inner solitude that emerges while submerged in water. Time as a measure that follows the rhythm of breathing, marking the balance between fatigue and calm. Both projects speak of recovery, fear, and persistence. A dialogue born from the same impulse: the desire to remain, to keep moving, to breathe again. We had the chance/honour to follow and support Jorge on this incredible project. The Swimmers is “a process shaped by time, water, and recovery.
