We’re very excited to announce that on October 28th, we’ll be visiting Fotohane in Mardin, Turkey, for a very special project.
At the core of every photographic darkroom lies a simple truth: it’s about learning and passing on knowledge. This medium that we all know and love has its limitations, but that is in part its beauty, and what it gives back on a personal level is limitless.
Fotohane’s message is a powerful one. Through creativity, patience, and the tireless efforts of Serbest, Amar, and the entire Fotohane team, their project not only empowers the children involved but also reminds us that photography can be so much more than just a tool. The work produced by the children during these workshops speaks volumes on this so please Check out
@fotohanedarkroom to see more of their work and learn more about this incredible project.
We designed a T-shirt in collaboration with not only Contact and
@fotohanedarkroom , but also
@rapideye.darkroom and
@labyrinthphotographicprinting . These two labs are family to us both, and together they’re helping with everything from film processing and developing to contact-sheeting and scanning! all in support of this project. We’re beyond grateful for their continued generosity and enthusiasm.
We’ve produced a limited run of T-shirts, available in selected sizes and colours. A handful are currently stocked at
@rapideye.darkroom and at
@labyrinthphotographicprinting with
@labyrinth_cos , so next time you’re dropping off film or picking up negatives, keep an eye out!
The rest are now live on our online shop, please follow the link in our bio.
All proceeds go directly toward funding production costs. Projects like this are never easy to bring to life, especially when working in analogue mediums, both photographic and 16mm moving image, but every shirt sold helps make this film possible.
