Friendship no.8: Mina & Taylor. A ride-or-die connection filled with love, light, and positive energy.
Taylor: I met this guy on
@bumble and we started dating. And he told me, I think you would really get along with my friend’s sister. He took me to this party. I had recently bought a foundation that was too light for me, and he was like, I think that would be Mina’s colour. So the first time we met, I asked her, can I give it to you? And that’s actually how we became friends. We’re bound by foundation!
Mina: It was so funny, it was exactly my colour. I had already heard about Taylor, that she likes anime and she’s really cool. Finally we got to meet, and we just clicked. We do everything together – dinner at her place, at my place, watch something, talk, go out… We did Comic Con three or four times already. It’s never boring.
Taylor: I’m no longer with my ex – we’re still friends, but at the time I was in this space where I felt like oh no, what will happen if we break up? Mina was the first person I talked to about it. I asked her, if we weren’t together would you still want to hang out with me? She was like “What are you talking about? Of course!” And that made me feel really loved.
I’m not very optimistic, but whenever I hang out with Mina, I feel more hope about the world. Her energy is so soothing, but also bright. She leaves a little piece of love in you when you see her. And she’s really funny.
Mina: I’m getting emotional! When I see Taylor, it’s like she’s shining, like a little sun. She has a very positive energy, and we have so much fun together. I love it. She is so reliable, always has an open ear, and gives very good advice. She’s down for anything, just a ride or die. I appreciate her so much!
Taylor: We are very different, but we play really well off of each other. If I have a bad day, or I’m not in the best mood, I can be open about it. That’s really important to me in a friendship because I feel like if you can’t openly express yourself what’s the point? She lets me get it out. Afterwards she’s like, should we have some chocolate? Do you want to come over and cry? And I can.
