In the summer @batch.works gained @bcorporation Certification. We are the first 3D printing business globally to be certified!! We are 100% focused on how this technology can be a force for good and now we have the badge to prove it! This wouldn’t have happened without the amazing perseverance of @waikiki_girl (Olivia) Who worked mega hard to get the very very annoying and very very long application over the line when we had started to give up! BUTTTT Now we got it!

Hello!! Bloody ell I haven’t posted in ages! This is a quick one to say that : Batch.Space is now Hackney Depot! The community space that Julien and I set up 5 years ago is now joining forces with the building we are part of. It makes sense, it’s already on the side of the building we even painted the sign!!! This whole building has always been about makers and local community and Batch.Space has become the glue that has brought that all together. It makes sense for us to align the brands and keep things simple. so we’ll be continuing to share stories on our @hackneydepot.community  channel (previously @batch.space ). What’s changing… Just the name. What’s not changing… Tenancy terms, memberships, facilities. As we roll out the new name, our focus stays the same: supporting the makers, artists, and independent businesses that make this place special. Thanks for being part of it. We are nearly 200% funded and there is still plenty of time to join the party! The kibu project has been an absolute labour of love for the entire team. We truly believe we have built not only is the best pair of children’s headphones on the market but also shown that 3D Printing (Additive Manufacture) can be a realistic choice for creating beautiful and sustainable end user products that embrace the business models of the future in a way that would just not be possible with traditional production methods. In May I was invited to take part in the @royalcom1851 Spring session lead by @tz_lloyd . The title of the event was - All Change: Design and Science in a time of Crisis. The evening was an amazing open reflection of how these two worlds can live together and inform each other in building a future we want to live in. In all honesty though it was just nice to be in the @vamuseum without any punters and talk to such a wide range of people doing interesting things. Thanks for having me! :)

Perfect for a little late night swing practice by the Thames :) I’m no golfer but this bad boi can smack a golf ball! Alright Alright, Over the past few months I have been working away on developing the @Batch.Space project at our new location @hackneydepot . It has been hard graft but i'm really proud of what we have achieved so far. After being ‘moved on’ from our last venue. We made the decision to take the plunge and build something bigger and more exciting. We are hoping to grow the new Batch.Space into a hub for residents to create exciting and relevant work in their respective fields as well as being a base for us to be able to launch our own projects in the future. As we grow we will be programming events, talks, workshops and studio projects all based around our amazing new home. This space has been built for and with our ever growing community and collaborators. Hello hello :) I’m happy to share that the Batch.shield project that I worked on as a reaction to the first wave of the pandemic has been selected for the: #beazleydesignsoftheyear exhibition at the @designmuseum ⁠ Batch.shield was a collaboration between @batch.works @cellule_studio and @officialqmul We would like to thank everyone that donated to the project, it allowed us to produce over 10,000 units of PPE that were distributed directly to hospitals all over London! ⁠ The Beazley Designs of the Year exhibition is on from the 21st of October 2020 to 28th of March 2021!⁠ I am now working with @batch.works to develop our ideas about new forms of sustainable inner city manufacturing! We are currently looking for some new members to join our existing crew of photographers, coders, machinists, makers and bio material Scientists if your interested GET IN TOUCH! We are all working together to shape the space into something special! Basically we have got sick people, sick machines and loads of space, come and dance with us! Here is the spiel: Batch.space is a new independent studio in East London offering a unique mix of facilities to nurture a vibrant and diverse community of people working across creative disciplines.Our space is versatile and inclusive.
